Quixotic5891 Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 I drilled the first set of hole in my bucket to hold it together. I figured I'd try it on for a quick picture but when I tried I could hardly get my head in and I don't even have the neck trim on yet! Are the helmets that tight of a fit or should I adjust it more? Id hate to redrill new holes. I'll post pics when I get to my computer for better reference Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Are you putting it on sideways? Quote
Nassik Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 What Mathias said. Put it on sideways. slip it down and then turn it around the correct way. Quote
Quixotic5891 Posted August 14, 2012 Author Report Posted August 14, 2012 I thought maybe that's how you put it on but I wanted to be sure before I added my last rivet Quote
bigironvault Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Believe it or not the neck trim I find makes it easier and less painful. Especially the S-trim. Quote
RogueTrooper[TK] Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) The original lid openings where somewhat oval-ish and you needed to turn you head or bucket to put it on. Archive pic of an original TK lid. More archived pix here:-------- Below is a video for back in 1978 (Making of Star Wars, As told by C3PO and R2D2) Start watching the at the 10.39 time stamp and you will see them getting some TKs ready. The first thing is them putting on a lid. --------- Edited December 21, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
