Mr. No-Stripes[TK] Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Well, my armor is close to be ready to go. Here I will post pics of my armor with questions about accuracy and building details. I hope you can help me guys. So and here we go: At the attached picture you can see the lower butt section with installed snaps. My question is about the marked button. What kind of button is accurate? Can it stay like it is right now, or should I cover it with a silver, a black or a brass colored button. Or should I cover it with a white colored button? So whats the most accurate variant? Thanks! Quote
Sonnenschein Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Actually, it was a split rivet (Spaltniete). I'd change it. Or, if you must, cover it with a brass button. Those parts in the crotch area were not painted, for obvious reasons Quote
Mr. No-Stripes[TK] Posted August 4, 2012 Author Report Posted August 4, 2012 Its not easy to change Thanks for help. I will cover it with brass button. That's what I needed. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 The best with E6000 is that can unassemble it WITHOUT destroying it Should be any easy fix. Just insert a long blade (Teppichmesser) underneath the strip and slowly work your way down. Quote
DudeSidious Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 I dont see how pulling it apart will fix it Quote
Sonnenschein Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 I dont see how pulling it apart will fix it Puling apart and then rebuild, Quote
Mogwai[TK] Posted August 4, 2012 Report Posted August 4, 2012 Yeah, try to get it apart and rebuild it. Trust me, once you are approved and Troop with your Armor, this will bother you forever. Just fix it now and make it right! Quote
Mr. No-Stripes[TK] Posted August 4, 2012 Author Report Posted August 4, 2012 hi. pulling it apart would be my emergency-plan. I would leave like that, if it is not inaccurate. Thats why I also posted that movie-screenshot for comparison. and sonnenschein the E6000 isn't that easy to remove if the parts are sanded before .... *sign* Quote
Mr. No-Stripes[TK] Posted August 4, 2012 Author Report Posted August 4, 2012 wouldn't bother me that much, if I knew it's accurate. Then I could say my left leg-armor is like that one trooper's leg in the movie Would be unique Quote
Mr. No-Stripes[TK] Posted August 8, 2012 Author Report Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Hello Guys! Now I have a few short questions about the ANH E-11 Blaster. What are the correct dimensions of the T-tracks (length, width, height)? And what would be a good but not to expensive source? Should it be metal or plastic? Thanks! Its plastic track originally, I used "E-Track" - the stuff used for sliding doors available from most DIY/hardware suppliers all you do is cut the outer uprights off... Quote
bobojuice Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 I get my T-track from rakes that can be found in a hardware store. Quote
Mr. No-Stripes[TK] Posted August 8, 2012 Author Report Posted August 8, 2012 Very good! Thanks alot guys!! Quote
Mr. No-Stripes[TK] Posted August 14, 2012 Author Report Posted August 14, 2012 Hi. Next question about the split rivets. Today I got 10 accurate splitrivets. How do I install it the best way? which tool is useful to bend the gaped ending. thx and regards Quote
bobojuice Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 I use a screwdriver to bend them a bit then smash them with a c-clamp. Quote
Mr. No-Stripes[TK] Posted August 14, 2012 Author Report Posted August 14, 2012 ok bobajuice. I give that a try thx Quote
