Kidney Plate Help

I need some help with the Kidney plate:

 

1) Which side is up and which is down? A or B?

 

2) Do I trimm the all of the return edges on the top and bottom of the Kidney plate?

I'm on my phone so I can't tell which is up and down, but I think you leave the return edges on.

For which way is up and down I'm not entirely positive. I can say that yes you leave some of a return edge. Believe it's about 5mm. That's what I left on mine. Looking at your pictures again, I'd go with the second one. That being said i've been up a lot of the night with my two month old. I'll strongly recommend a second opinion. Happy trimming!

Yep, leave some return edge on, it'll help to keep the butt and back from sliding under the kidney plate. As far as which is up or down, the curvature of the kidney plate should fit the small of your back. So the belt sits in the more indented area and makes the armor look cinched tight. Hope that makes sense.
