tkrestonva[TK] Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 During the summer months Garrison Tyranus does a series of beachfront troops at the Virginia Beach oceanfront at the request of Beachstreet USA, in exchange for a donation to charity based on the number of troops we can support. We try to do 5-6 beach troops during the summer. Typically GT’s charity of choice is the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but this year due to some recent deaths of garrison friends and family members, we designated LifeNet Health as this year’s charity to support. This troop is to me second only to Air & Scare as the most fun in-state troop we do during the year, but for a somewhat different reason as you will see in the photos: Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted July 26, 2012 Author Report Posted July 26, 2012 First up - armor party! This was an opportunity to begin getting one of our newest prospective members started – who found the garrison via the FISD - as well as work on second costumes for a couple of our full members and do some fine-tuning to yet another costume. tkrestonva[TK] Posted July 26, 2012 Author Report Posted July 26, 2012 Later that afternoon/evening we went trooping at the Virginia Beach oceanfront, an event hereby to be known as “Bikinis and Blasters!†We took hundreds of photos and it was difficult to decide which ones to post – I wanted to post all of them! tkrestonva[TK] Posted July 26, 2012 Author Report Posted July 26, 2012 More beach trooping … no really, this is actually a charity troop Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted July 26, 2012 Author Report Posted July 26, 2012 Finally, what better way to celebrate a successful troop than food/drink at what is our new hangout in Virginia Beach: Quote

boomshakra[TK] Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Good job - good mix of troopers. I don't think I have seen that many RCs outside of Con pictures...one of those is high on my 'to-build' list... Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted July 27, 2012 Author Report Posted July 27, 2012 Good job - good mix of troopers. I don't think I have seen that many RCs outside of Con pictures...one of those is high on my 'to-build' list... We're lucky in that we actually have a full Delta squad, and they all live within 1-2 hours driving distance of each other. We also have an Omega squad in the making. Unfortunately, Boss couldn't make it out that night - his wife wouldn't let him come out and play. Quote
TKRalf[TK] Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 Thanks for sharing! Nothing like a few cold ones with fellow troopers to end a good troop. Quote
jnnfr72[TK] Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Love the pictures! Thanks for posting So who got more hugs - Vader or the Stormtroopers? It's hard to tell, but I'm thinking RoTJ won! Quote
TK Keith[TK] Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 Great pics- it looks like you guys had a blast. I also like the city grill-- it looks like a great place get together after a day in armor! Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 You forgot to cut his belt corners But it looks like you had a blast! Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted August 7, 2012 Author Report Posted August 7, 2012 You forgot to cut his belt corners He built his kit himself, largely without my inputs. I helped him correct some assembly mistakes after it was already completed, but I'll add that to the list. Also, I'm still trying to convince him to lose the AM helmet. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 Yeah, I trust you to handle that. Quote
