Boba_Skywalker3 Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) Ok, so I have been trimming my helmet and I need to know if I need to trim more. Here are pictures of my helmet so far! Let me know if you need to see more pictures to make more accurate advice! Thanks for the help! Edited January 23, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
matt black Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) I would say yes, you can trim some more. You can see where the smooth plastic stops and the wrinkled plastic starts. I would wait for some more opinions though as there are members with better knowledge than me. ---------- Edited February 27, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote

Scootch[TK] Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 Best to get it assembled before final tweaking. You could wind up taking too much and many of the pro's like to leave a bit of what they call the "mold line" before final tweaking. They do this to achieve their favored "undercut". No rush in building a lid, and excellent question! Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 it's really a judgement call at this point on your extra flashing, it might make the helmet look better with a test fit of the trim over the top of the wrinkled material. ATA lids are much larger in the neck opening than lets say a stock AP cut. the goal here is to leave some on, as scott suggests, then you can test fit the neck trim and go from there. Quote
