Hi Brian. I don't think I know of Troopergear. Could you post a link so that those of us that are not familiar with them can see what we are talking about. Also have you looked at the list of recommended armour sellers here on FISD?

There is tons of information here - including quite a few build threads with detailed photos - regarding the AM kit. IMO the key takeaways are:

  1. The kit is better suited for a larger trooper. If you are smaller than, say, 5'11" and/or 190lbs, you're probably better off with a smaller kit (TM, ATA, AP, etc.). RT Mod also falls into this category of being better suited for the big/tall trooper.
  2. The helmet is grossly inaccurate. Better to get the lite kit and source a different helmet.
  3. The shins are flawed, and you will need to take extra care to ensure you assemble them correctly. There is an excellent tutorial posted that shows you precisely how to do so.
  4. Although the kit comes with a set of written instructions, they should be immediately discarded. DO NOT follow the written assembly guide, use this forum as your assembly guide.

There may or may not be a waiting list depending on the status of the most current run, but like Greg said customer service is top-notch.

Don't get the full kit! Get the lite kit, you do not want that helmet.

Although I do have an AM kit I got a MTK helmet instead of the AM. I did not get the AM helmet because as Brian stated it is horridly inaccurate. There are a few small accuracy things about the armour that some people don't like but I love the sharpness of the details.

I am over 6' and about 95kgs thought so it was nicely suited to me as well.
