A long time ago, I downloaded the blaster templates from BBC. I printed out the barrel ones, reduced them a bit so that the holes were the proper size. I cut off the excess and found that they are not even close to fitting the 1 1/2 inch diameter of the pipe I have. When wrapped, it overlaps a full 1/2 inch.

Where can I get templates that work for the accurate size pipe?

Lucas, zeroroom, is still not finished with the new templates, but you might get a preview/beta from him if you ask.

Thanks Mathias! I did find 1.5 inch barrel option templates. I dowloaded them and I can't print them for some reason. I must not have the right program.

try this

Ā

and for the rear

Ā

print them at 300 dpi and you should be good. full page no margins.

WOW!!! Thanks Vern!!!

I am trying to reduce this down. I'll figure it out!

don't reduce it. just print it no boarders like a photo and cut it out.

300 dpi. easy. I made it for the 1.5 pipe.

Ā

on my cannon printer I use borderless normal, it chooses photo paper but I ignore that.

Ā

want me to ship you a printed version?

Ā

Ā

of course this is what my plan looks like.

Ā

I designed the printout so that if you print it borderless like a photo it will work fine.

Ā

don't use the browser to print it. use your printer's settings to print it like a borderless 300 dpi photo.

I guess I just don't know what I am doing.

It is still too big for my pipe. I re-measured to make sure I have the right one. I do. The pipe is 4.75 inches around. The template when printed is 5 1/2. BBC does make a template for a 1.5 inch pipe. It dowloads as a "type 5" file. My computer doesn't recognize this so I can't print it

the bbc plans are wrong anyway.

Ā

did you try to print my plans?

Ā

if you'd like I have a set I could post over to you.

Ā

5$

Ā

when you print my plans use a photo editor not windows or the browser.

choose photo print borderless 300 dots per inch.

Ā

print plan and cut on the lines.

Ā

I edited the plans above so that the length of the tube is right, they had it too long.

and I edited the plan for the end cap placement, they didn't have it even marked

also added the placement diagrams.

Ā

when you wrap the pipe with my plan line up the holes and mid line

the handle marks don't line up.

Ā

if you don't print borderless then the drawing will come out too small.

Hey guys

Ā

I'm confused and I even built one of these years ago.

Ā

I have what I thought is the correct alloy pipe that measures at 35.00mm outside diameter and an internal diameter of 32.00mm is this correct?

Ā

Cheers

what type of parts are you intending to use to build?

the pipe diameter is different depending upon the sourced parts.

Ā

otherwise you should follow the sterling dimensions.

Posted

Combination of original parts and scratchbuilt.

Ā

Scratchbuilt nozzle, endcap magazine & mag housing ect

Ā

And original pistol grip/ trigger assembly, hengsler counter, scope ect.

Ā

Currently creating silicon molds and already castes about 8 end caps, all modified to fit a 35mm OD pipe

well the sterling dimension is what you should follow.

Ā

38.xx mm

Ā

I have this and it fits perfectly.

Ā

Ā

photos of my build can be inserted here to show.

Ā

just braize and solder and finish up with a zinc parkerization.

if you have original sterling parts just buy the tube and template.

Ā

my machinist had no problem cutting it out.

bolt fit instantly all original sterling parts mount perfectly.

Ā

done deal.

Ā

comes with some minor errors on the template.

bribe me and I'll tell you where he's a little small or off

Ā

hehe...

Ā

perfectionist!

This is great!! Although the ejector port (9/32 & 1/8 drill marks) on the Geoff Allen plans looks a bit small compared to my sterling. Please confirm I'm not crazy. cheers.

the above tube is stellar. canes rocks!

Hi Vern, How is this tube legal to use with original bolt/parts?

The correct blueprints are located on the link in my signature for the blaster resource.

Ā

the unique canes blaster tube comes with a template bonded to the receiver. and is the correct size.

if you render your parts unable to fire, and weld the trigger group into the frame, drill out the bolt firing pin and weld it to the tube.

install a wooden dowel for the front barrel.Ā  and weld a bar across the rear so nothing comes out.

as well you can glue/weld the front screws into the frame.

Ā

you should render the bolt inactive, and the trigger sear inactive BEFORE you mill the receiver.

contacting a gunsmith and having them sign off on the NFA build is probably the safest way to accomplish this in california.

especially if you prep the parts and have the gunsmith do the build.Ā  you are protected

Awesome! Thanks Vern.. you da man!

So the PVC plans where ejector port drill dimensions are both "9/32 - this is correct.

The older set of plans has one of the drill dimensions as "1/8Ā  - not correct.
