Arnie_DK[TK] Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 Hey everybody. I got a bit of a dilemma right now. I may be able to sell my Jedi-robe armour. The one I'm comparing to in THIS thread, but I'm not sure I should. First things first, its NOT for a prospective member, so I wont be recycling it. No worries there. But it may be donated to someone as a fun gift. An event coordinator have asked me if I want to sell it so it can be donated to a contact of his, at an upcoming event. I think this could be a great gift, but it just dont feel right. My dilemma is, that I dont mind getting rid of the costume for a good cause, but its still cost me over 900£ !!! plus extra!! I could never dream about asking this much for the costume now, but I still think its ALOT of money to just give away, when I could use it to make a death trooper, TKC, INC etc. Especially the deat trooper is tempting, as I dont want to ruin a good kit on this. BBut if I was to get rid of it and sell it, I would still like to get something out of it... Please help me in this decision. Both me and the seller know what kind of costume this is, and there are no secrets between us, but can I sell this, and what do you think is a reasonable price? Any thought is apreciated. Thanks Quote
Sonnenschein Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 That's heavy.... you could just donate the helmet, and get a cheap one for your death trooper. Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted May 9, 2012 Author Report Posted May 9, 2012 We have actually a helmet on the way right now, but now its an entire suit were talking about... Quote
bluehickey Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 I would say that if it's going to be sold for someone to use as just a fun gift then I'd be fine with it. If it was going to someone trying to get into the 501st then I'd definitely feel bad selling it to them. Quote
jnnfr72[TK] Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 I wouldn't give it away for free. I know my spouse would tell me to sell it for at least what the TM cost. My hubby really doesn't like to part with money, though! Just my 2 cents.... Good luck! Quote
bigironvault Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 I think if it is to someone outside the legion or has no interest in being part of the legion, then you have every right to get what you feel is market value for it. Quote
walt[501st] Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 put it on the bay and say it is not 501st Quote
NastyNoah[TK] Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 You paid good money for it and someone else knows what they are getting and willing to pay you for it? Take the money !!!!!! Quote
matt black Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 I'd say so long as the buyer knows exactly what he is getting and is happy with the price then you should have a clear conscience. Quote
anphrax[TK] Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 I'll buy it and turn it into a Death Trooper Quote
iconoclasta_88[501st] Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Things are worth what someone else is willing to pay for them... So, if you set a price that feels right for you consodering what youpaid for it in the first place, and someone else is willing to pay that money for it, then you are fine. As long as you both feel fine with the sale, you should have no moral issues there. And just because you now know better, it doesnt mean that the suit costs less in the same market. Saludos. Quote

Arnie_DK[TK] Posted May 10, 2012 Author Report Posted May 10, 2012 Thanks for your opinions everybody And yes it is for someone outside the Legion who, I dont presume, want to be a part of the legion. Still, dont want to rip of my fellow garrison members who would probably chip in on this. I'll have a talk with the EC and see what we can figure out is fair and would work best. Thanks again Quote
