As great as the screen accurate rubber gloves may look, I have a feeling it wouldn't be much fun on a 40°C day.

 

What alternatives are there to rubber and where can you get them (In particular, where could I get any in Australia)?

 

Edit: In case you were confused or you don't read Celsius, yes, 40°C is hot

Always wear cotton or lycra gloves inside your rubber gloves. It not only helps in cold and hot weather, it helps with perspiration and general comfort as well.

If you don't have to be canon, try silk or cotton gloves, something with a little more air flow.
