captsafe66[Admin] Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Looks very good!! I like the velcro on the Thermal Detonator clips. Do you like the TK409 neck seal? Is it very thick? In my opinion, should be an easy pass!! Good luck Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Your armour looks very good! I do however have a concern with your helmet (good thing you're working on a new one). Your brow trim sits way too high over where it normally would if it was not a resin/fiberglass helmet. This is quite noticeable when looking at it from the side If you decide to stick with this helmet I would recommend moving the brow accordingly: Other than the helmet, you look great and see no other obvious issue holding you back right now. Dazauto[TK] Posted March 17, 2012 Author Report Posted March 17, 2012 Thanks for the comments so far guys, the brow on the helmet is an easy fix so no problems there, and hopefully the new lid should be finished soon. As for the neckseal I do like it, its not to thick and very comfortable. Here is some pics of my new lid, still a few bits to finish off but nearly there, all decals apart from the tube strips are handpainted. Quote
Dazauto[TK] Posted March 17, 2012 Author Report Posted March 17, 2012 LID UPDATE Have moved the brow on my original lid as advised to cover cast line, hope this is now ok. Quote
dashrazor Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 very nice it looks like you may have put the rubber trim on up-side-down.. but it looks much better in the lower position Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Yeah, that brow trim is upside down. I cannot approve that. Sorry. While we're at it, I would recommend trimming the eyes out some more on your new helmet. It looks more confused than menacing right now. Unless that is the look you're going for. You're doing good work though. Keep it up! Quote
Dazauto[TK] Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 Good spot guys, never a good thing to rush stuff and do it late at night Have removed the brow and replaced it the right way up hope this now much better, One question how much more should I trim around the eyes on my new lid ? Thanks guys Quote
inglorious trooper Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 if you look at your first helmet your eye points are sharper,so id do the same with your new one, helps with that menacing look that mathias mentioned earlier Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Much better! I think, if you want to you could cut away one "wall" of the brow trim, that normally goes behind the forehead for your casted brow-line. (if you look at it from the top you see the brow is doubled up) Here's a rough illustration of where I think the eyes could be trimmed out a little more. Of course, it's important to go slowly and look at it regularly from a distance to see how it's progressing, whilst you're trimming. I am however approving you for EIB. Your armor is up to spec and looking great, and your helmet is within acceptable levels, and I think you'll make it even better in no time at all. Good job trooper! Quote
Dazauto[TK] Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 Awesome news, thank you Mathias for the approval and advice for my new lid will get that sorted soon. I feel very proud to receive EIB status. Quote
TK1636[TK] Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Great job trooper welcome to the ranks. Quote
Finchydavinci Posted October 25, 2015 Report Posted October 25, 2015 Hi, I'm on the waiting list for ATA armour but i'm not sure whether to go for Andy's shed TE armor instead due to it being abit cheaper and having it assembled in the price. At present i have FX armor ( rookie stuff lol ) and a ATA helmet. What is your opinion? Quote
