gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 I like the strapping and especially the double snaps, much safer if one lets go you still have another in its place, I use this on my arms as well Quote
OsotheBear Posted July 22, 2013 Author Report Posted July 22, 2013 (edited) Got a holster from Darman, very impressed with the quality , and just what i needed to finish the belt Ā Also the hand plates glued to the gloves Ā Elastic shoulder in place! Ā Also helmet masking for helmet pads All masked out for the velcro pads First coat of hammered black And finally a coat of matte blackĀ Ā Ā Now cutting out the eyes and frown ventsĀ Ā Ā Ear testĀ Ā Ā I'm having a little gap on the back of the right ear Ā Edited July 22, 2013 by OsotheBear Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Excellent progress, I cannot wait to see how this all comes together! Quote
TrooperTim Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Nice work on the ears. The helmet's looking good. Quote
OsotheBear Posted July 23, 2013 Author Report Posted July 23, 2013 Thanks, yeahh there's a bit of a gap on the back side of the right ear, but I've sen that in the photos of the originals there where some gaps too Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 mine has the right ear rear gap too (both AP buckets I have), probably more gap than yours... i wouldn't sweat it much! 1 Quote
OsotheBear Posted July 24, 2013 Author Report Posted July 24, 2013 I started to paint the details on the helmet, as an advice, just paint one square and let it dry, I did all 4 at the same time and it was hard not to get paint all over. I'm going to paint the grey that way, one at the time. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 Looking good, nice work on those ears and teeth trimming, keep up the great work Quote
OsotheBear Posted July 26, 2013 Author Report Posted July 26, 2013 Some masking and then painting the grey areas Ā Ā What do you guys and gals think? is the thickness of the black line ok?? Ā Ā And now the frown Ā Ā and the ears Ā Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Can't wait to see more, looking good Quote
OsotheBear Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 Got to work around the helmet a litle more Quote
OsotheBear Posted August 13, 2013 Author Report Posted August 13, 2013 A bit of a set back using the masks but came out alright at theĀ endĀ Quote
OsotheBear Posted August 20, 2013 Author Report Posted August 20, 2013 A bit more, getting closeĀ Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 Looks like you fixed the bleed through lines nicely, well done Quote
OsotheBear Posted September 2, 2013 Author Report Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Hello troopers , I'm giving the finishing touches to my helmet and I was wondering about the s-trim, which one of these looks ok? the round or flat on the outside? and where is the the joint?do the edges meet in the front or in the back? I've seen helmet with the joint on both the front and back. Thanks!! Edited September 2, 2013 by OsotheBear Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 I joined my edges under the the front, as that area is black and it helps hide the seam.Ā Ā I put my S-trim with the flat part on the outside. I cannot confirm which is "correct, but I liked the cleaner-flush look when mounted.Ā Quote
OsotheBear Posted September 3, 2013 Author Report Posted September 3, 2013 I wonder if there's an image of the bottom a screen used one ? Quote
OsotheBear Posted September 3, 2013 Author Report Posted September 3, 2013 Helmet coming alongĀ Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Nice progress on the bucket... how is the fit with all those mitch pads. I have the same kind and I can only use a couple in the front and back. No sides and top as it sits too high on my noggin.Ā Quote
OsotheBear Posted September 3, 2013 Author Report Posted September 3, 2013 they are just a about right , I had to re arrange them a bit but they work fine now, maybe I will try to get the old petal foam one just to see how it compares Quote
Tolo[TK] Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Is your padding thin? Or I must have a big head, I can barely fit some padding in my AP helmet lolll. Ā Ā Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 the only way to make the foam petal work for me is to use the chin strap (i have it installed). I don;t like using the chin strap, so I opted for the mitch pads and they hold nice, easy to remove and wash if needed.Ā Ā Keep up the great progress! Quote
OsotheBear Posted September 5, 2013 Author Report Posted September 5, 2013 Ok , a test , I'm almost done, Ā happy with the results , I think it came out not so bad! Quote
