drummernic91 Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Im a 6 foot 240lb guy thinking of getting the rt mod kit but dont know if i should get the rt mod helmet with it due to it being 4percent bigger than normal. I read the ATA helmet wasnt a bad choice. Any suggestions guys? Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) what size hat do you wear? neck size? the ATA has a large opening, and it can be made even wider? Edited February 20, 2012 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote
NastyNoah[TK] Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 If you are 6ft, 240lbs I don't think a helmet being 4 % larger is going to look out of proportion. The best part about an RT helmet is it comes assembled and painted ready to go. Quote
drummernic91 Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 I wear a size 8 hat or 26inch and my neck is 18 and half inches. I dont mind having to build my own helmet though espcially if it costs less. Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) You may have to go with a RT-MOD helmet, I think your size is a bit to large for screen size helmet. Contact Rob at RT-MOD, he's really cool and tell him your size. Edited July 24, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
Dracos Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 OK - what is suggested for the opposite problem? I have a very small head - as in the very last prong on an adjustable ball cap. I am 5'10" so I am also trying to figure out what looks proportional - figuring that I can put more padding in if necessary. I don't particularly like the larger helmets and would like to avoid them, but I haven't yet been able to put my finger on which ones are larger and which ones are narrower. Is it a particular sculpt or is it the difference between stunt and hero? Heh, while I'm on the topic, I have wondered a little about color matching. If I wanted to upgrade to a TM helmet down the road what armor should I be looking for to match that eventuality? Sorry for all of the ?'s I hope I'm not being redundant. If there is a thread I should read, please re-direct. . . . Quote
LadyInWhite[TK] Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Mysie, I would think (and I maybe wrong) it's more about the bucket compared with your build/height for proportions, so at 5'10" any of the regular buckets should look proportional on you. Then you just outfit the INside to get it to fit your head, so you might need extra padding. Heck a helmet liner might actually work for you - I couldn't get one into mine. I am now thinking bike helmet padding... Quote

It is a matter of how your bucket is put together and how you make it on the inside. Saludos. Quote
lostin480 Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 yeah but how do you decide between ESB or ANH? Quote
Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 yeah but how do you decide between ESB or ANH? By how you paint the helmet and which is your favorite film (actually that's not true... ESB is my favorite film but I prefer the look of a ANH stunt trooper) Aloha, -Eric Quote
TKFIU Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 I'm 6'2" 200 lbs and have a 7 5/8 hat size. I picked up the AM kit and am using the helmet that came with it. Some people on the forums will tell you that the helmet is too big, but I think the proportions are right with my size. They should be fine for you as well. Quote
HawkTrooper Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Not only is the AM/FW helmet too big, but the proportions are completely different to what a TK helmet looks like. I would highly recommend not to get a AM helmet if I had the choice... Quote
dknight22 Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 How will the RS helmet look on a guy with a 7 1/2 inch head, 5 foot 11 inch height? Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 It would look great! Sent from my GT-I9300 Quote
Mogwai[TK] Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 It would look great! The RS is a great Helmet. Quote
dknight22 Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 Do all the RS helmets come with the chipped look or is that an option? Quote
matt black Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 That is just one option that they offer. Quote
dknight22 Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 That is just one option that they offer. Ok good, I'm not a big fan of the chipped look. I've been in touch with Rob, but he didn't mention all the options for the helmet yet. Quote
DudeSidious Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 They also offer an idealized helmet with none of the lumps and bumps that come with there replica helmets. Quote
dknight22 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 They also offer an idealized helmet with none of the lumps and bumps that come with there replica helmets. Will the idealized version still pass 501st approval? What about Centurion? Quote
DudeSidious Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Yes the RS idealized helmet would pass approval and centurion. Quote
