Locitus[Admin] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 You may want to raise the back plate a little. For centurion you can't have any overlap with the kidney. Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Yeah I saw that, but actually its the Kidney riding up Ā I'll try and fix it with some velcro between the belt and the kidney. Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 I'm done and pictures are sent to the GML for approval Ā Ā When its approved I can touch up on all the little things, like painting the rivets and such. But basic approval for now. Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Forgot the helmet Ā Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Now start working on the EI application Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) Need Tobias to approved the basic first, dont I??? Ā Otherwise I can send in the EIB right away I believe. As far as I can see the only thing keeping me from Centurion, is the charging handle on the E-11... Oh and that pesky back plate... Edited February 24, 2012 by Arnie_DK Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 You need GML approval for trooping with this costume. I do not see how it would affect this detachment though. We don't control what you can and can't do IRL, we only award nice looking costumes and do research and development. Ā As long as you are a 501st and detachment member that is. Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Hmmm... EIB it is then Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Just make sure pictures are high quality (haven't been a problem so far;) ) and all the requirements are easily seen in the pictures. Quote
Sparrow Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Wow that was one fast build! Looks great! Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Thanks Ā And yeah it was fast...almost too fast... I miss working on it allready Quote
Sparrow Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 I know, I am going through withdrawl. However I got a lot of feedback for some tweeks, so I'm not done yet! Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 I dont think we ever get really done hehe... We can always tweek some little thing... But the big parts are always the best Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Oh and Mathias... Done Ā http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=18734&hl=&fromsearch=1 Quote
Eldrik Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Congratulation to your EIB and a nice result you have build! Ā Have a nice troop Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Thanks Train leaves in about 2 hours and then I have a 4 and Ā½ hour trip ahead of me. I'm gonna sleep in the train me thinks Quote
Rich330[TK] Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) Great build and great build thread, Morten. Ā One slight adjustment I think you should make .... Ā I would like to see you work on the connection between the chest and abdomen & back and kidney respectively. The back overlaps and ideally it should not overlap at all. The originals were connected in such a way that it was impossible for them to overlap. Work on this. Shorten the elastic connecting these parts and get the two parts to align flush with no overlap. At the front, the same thing applies. The chest should overlap a little but quite a bit less than yours does. You may not need to adjust anything at the front once you've sorted out the back as the entire lower part of the assembly will shift downwards. There's no reason for you to have the armour scrunched up in a small zone in the middle of your body. You're a tall chap yo you can spread it out better. Doing this will also close up the gap between the groin area and your thighs. I see a little too much black at the moment. Ā A quick easy fix but it will improve your authentic TK look a lot. Rich330[TK] Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Back: Ā Ā Front: Ā Ā Me: 1.72m / 5'8" in height and still made it work .... Ā Ā Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 Good pointers, and I will definetly look into it, when I get back home from this troop Quote
Arnie_DK[TK] Posted February 28, 2012 Author Report Posted February 28, 2012 Okay, I have been thinking about how to correct the overlapping problem with the back and chest and here's what I think I need to do. Ā I need to do a bit of heat bending on the tabs that goes from the back and on to the shoulders. This should lift it up a bit. Ā Also I need to do a bit more work on the cod, and either cut or heatbend again, to make it slimmer. I noticed during the troop this weekend that my thighs are pushing the cod up, because its too wide, and therefore making such a big overlap of the chest piece. Ā I have tried to illustrate this in paint. Let me know what you guys think. The red lines indicate where I would need to heatbend or cut. Ā Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 No, no and no! Ā Just make the elastic in the shoulders shorter, so you pull everything higher up and that should fix it. Quote
