question about plastic portion of belt

Did a few searches couldnt find the answers

 

1. is the plastic portion centered on the canvas belt (length wise) (figured it was but had to ask)

 

2.my ata belt has 3.5" of plastic extending from either side, sould i trim them down shorter?

2. yes, measure 45mm for side of last box and cut

then on top and bottom mark 12mm from end and cut at 45 degree angle

I have one more question.

For the centurian status one requirment is to have boots that are lightly scuffed. Whats the best way to do this? Thanks

I rubbed mine (tkboots) with newspaper. If you went with black-painted-white jodhupers, it seems you can just scrape a bit of the paint off in random places.
