senna1rossi[TK] Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 would it be a dork move to carry around a T-21 blaster in my TK armor...? certainly you can do it, but would i be the butt of all jokes for rest of 2012 and beyond?? almost like going helmet-less and a wife-beater shirt on a Sunday morning sportbike ride?? btw, any "ready-to-assemble" DLT-19 kits around for less than $150 shipped? iconoclasta_88[501st] Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Where I come from we think T-21's are really cool BFGs!! One thing is for sure, it is not the most practical and comfortable thing to carry around. Saludos. Quote
bluehickey Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Why don't you just do a Heavy Weapon's trooper? They carry T-21's! Quote
xaoslord Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 How about when Han and Luke took Chewie to the detention level with a BFG? Quote
Toddo[TK] Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Have you been to the Cushman site? I have one of these on order based on a great recommendation over at 501st Special Ops. http://www.cushmanpaintball.com/ReplicaMg34DLT.html Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 If it's a casual event - mmmm maybe. If you like it and everyone else is good, then there you go. I'd agree though for the T-21 you might as well HWT it up and put on a pauldron and some pouches, even if you skip the pack once in awhile (those packs get heavy and even as a sandy we used to take breaks from it). Personally, as a clean TK I prefer the E-11 or DLT-19 (MG-34), but that's how I roll... Quote
nickblack423[501st] Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Danny, I would suggest it is up to how realistic you want to be. In keeping realism with the films then yes you really should only carry a DLT-19 or E-11 as a TK. T-21s and MG-15s should only be for Stormtroopers as that is all we see on the screen. If you are talking in terms of realism, I have always looked on the TK's that we see in the films as kind of a ceremonial force, much like the troops guarding the palace at Westminster in the UK. Serving soldiers who have taken up a ceremonial post which means they must look their best while on duty. This doesnt explain the troops who storm Tantive IV however, who could be labelled as like Marines serving onboard a Navy ship. Troops of this type would probably only carry the basic issue rifle of the force, in this case E-11, and you would get certain troops in the unit carrying a longer, unit suport weapon, i.e. the DLT-19. Usually 1 per section or something like that. These troops would carry out the role of security aboard the vessel and act as an attack force for boarding other vessels. Then you have your specialist units of the army who would have a mixture of weapons in a unit, including heavy weapons. This is what you could lump the likes of the troops at Tatooine in. So for that I would suggest Sandtroopers and probably Snowtroopers would carry E-11, DLT-19, T-21 and MG-15 (although we only see snowtroopers carrying E-11.) I know that GL never really looked into it that heavily when making the films but that is how I would look at it. Compare it to the military side of things and come up with your own realism. BananoPower22[TK] Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 bfgs are fun, and you look like a badass with them but in my experience as a hwt, the butt of the rifle makes it a small PITA to pose for pictures Quote
Spectre Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 So a TK could carry a DLT-19 and still be considered canon? Quote
Kade[TK] Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 So a TK could carry a DLT-19 and still be considered canon? Yup, I believe so. If I remember correctly one of the stormtroopers searching the Millennium Falcon while it was on the Death Star was carrying a DLT-19. Quote
bobojuice Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 I had a Cushman DLT-19 that my buddy sold me and I really wasn't happy with it. The detail is not good at all. The only good thing about it is that it's light. Also, he gave it to me after EXTENSIVE mods to get it to look better. Overall, I wouldn't recommend them. Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 I too had a Cushman that was pimped out. For close-in work you're right - the details are soft and it's not that great. However it's perfect for parades as it weighs nothing and at that distance no one can tell anyway. It became my #1 piece of hardware that people wanted to borrow. So - the answer is it depends Quote
SuperTrooper Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 Cushman has also taken many people's money and not delivered. Some of them local to him. For about the same price you should be able to get a decent wood/PVC BFG. Quote

pandatrooper[TK] Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 Do not buy from Cushmann. Plenty of people have been ripped off. Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 Do not buy from Cushmann. Plenty of people have been ripped off. And I agree with that as well. I count myself fortunate I was not one of the victims... Quote
WESTVIG Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Yeah Cushman is a let down. Spend more and get a hyperfirm. I have a cushman DLT and I had to do heavy mods on it before I was seen in public with it. I got a T-21 from Anthony and it is great!!!!! Quote
boomshakra[TK] Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 (edited) doh! that's not good... is the "wood/PVC" an actual kit, or are you meaning that i should do a scratch build? There are templates out there for a pvc/wood dlt-19. I have a build thread over on the DLT-19 page - not the best looking one ever made, but it was a fun project. From a distance it looks accurate enough . I will probably only use it for outdoor troops/parades as it is a bit cumbersome/easy to whack someone with due to the limited field of vision of the helmet (at least in my experience). A couple of people in my Squad have also been ripped off by Cushman, for what it's worth... Edited July 10, 2012 by boomshakra Quote
