Kahler TK-8029 Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 I'm currently about half way through building my second set of F/X TK armor, and I figured I go ahead and shoot for ANH Elite. Here's my back plate, cut and reattached with elastic strap... ...here's my ab and back plate with the newly added side plate inserts... ....I went ahead and trimmed the belt down on the corners. Now I'm just waiting on my canvas belt to come in. Here's my correct color and size ab buttons.... No rivets in the shoulder strap attachment, and for now I'm leaving the backs unattached. I may at some point secure them with velcro.... I'm still going to use my RT bucket that I had with my first set, but just for the record...... Here's the grey painted frown, with eight holes (stunt version) Blue tube stripes... Quote
Kahler TK-8029 Posted October 23, 2007 Author Report Posted October 23, 2007 Hovi Mix mike tips... Grey traps / teardrops with black lines and flat green lenses. I hope to have everything done by the end of the week, and then I can get some pics in costume. Quote
TK8280 Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Great job brother! the only thing that I can see that I'm sure Scott would point out is your paint on the frown it bleeds a little too much onto the lips for ANH elite, but that can easily be fixed Quote
Scott M.[TK] Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Great job brother! the only thing that I can see that I'm sure Scott would point out is your paint on the frown it bleed a little too much onto the lips for ANH elite, but that can easily be fixed Again, you guys make my job too easy. Bernard is 100% accurate on the frown. Other than that, looks great so far!!! Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Lookin good there trooper, i also noticed the frown and that is easily fixed, look forward to seeing your progress Quote
Pepster3D Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Nice job!!!! I hope to be following in your footsteps soon.... Quote
Kahler TK-8029 Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 Okay, I did a little work to the frown last night when I got home from work. It looks way better than it did, thanks for pointing that out. I'll get some pics posted up when I get home tonight. Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Way to go Aaron! I think getting the frown right is a real PITA and the most distressing to rework. Would be interested to hear how you re-did it. Quote
Kahler TK-8029 Posted October 25, 2007 Author Report Posted October 25, 2007 Way to go Aaron! I think getting the frown right is a real PITA and the most distressing to rework. Would be interested to hear how you re-did it. Yes, it was quite a PITA, but it's done. I ended up just scraping it off with a sharp knife, and then buffing the ABS back out with some super fine grit (12,000) sand paper. Quote
Guest Bezerkus Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Nice Job Aaron, fantastic rework! Quote
TK:TK Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Great rework on the frown. It's interesting to see how such a detail can really change the whole look. It's far more sinister now. Quote
BactaReality Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Nice work on the helmet there. Taking away that excess grey certainly brings out the features of that part of the helmet. It's hard to realize how much of a difference a tiny detail like that can make, until you have a side by side comparison. The left pic almost looked like an FX lid, nothing like what an RT looks like. Thumbs up. Quote
TK8280 Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Great job Aaron, I can't wait to see how the rest of your armor turns out Quote
TK-2126_MD[TK] Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Very Nice! Great job Aaron!! Quote
Kahler TK-8029 Posted October 26, 2007 Author Report Posted October 26, 2007 I re-shaped the right knee boxes to a more correct shape.... ...I cut the cod piece for added flexability.... .....added the elastic to the shoulder bells... ...finished up my thermal detonator with the exception of the metal clips which I'm still waiting on..... ...this is an idea I got from one of our other squad members. I used a small bungee cord to "close" the detonator. This way I can use it to store keys, smokes, etc. .... My canvas belt JUST arrived in the mail, so I'm off to work on that. More pics to come. Butah Fett Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Like I said on the FLG boards, nice work! Can't wait til it's done and can see it in person. Quote

Daetrin[Admin] Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Yeah! Scott's not busy enough - let's see more applicants!!! We're at 10 Elite - we should be able to double that by the end of the year Quote
Kahler TK-8029 Posted October 26, 2007 Author Report Posted October 26, 2007 LOL!!! UPS just dropped off the clips for my detonator, so now that's done. Quote
Kahler TK-8029 Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 I got started on the canvas belt. I still need to cut it to size add some velcro. Quote
TK8280 Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Looking good there Aaron , just don't forget to conceal the rivets on your belt plate Quote
