Lieberman Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 1st time building a helmet. It's an ATA helmet I've been worried about every little cut I make (remember your first time). I'm still working on getting the ears ground down, but have the face and back/top put together and just had to try putting it on my head. It seems small and I don't think I have an abnormally sized head. Is this normal? I'm sure I could trim it down a little more, but like I said, always worries about cutting too much. Roomie inside once it's on, the hole just seems small. Quote
bluehickey Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 You can cut the opening bigger in order to get your head in. Quote
G5Captain Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 I just finished my second ATA helmet and they are snug to get into but once you attach the ears you will easily see how much more you can trim around the opening. I still have to turn the helmet 45 degrees to get it on and but there is plenty of room. Quote
n0c00lgamertag Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 I have to turn mine to the side to get it to go on too. Then as I lower I pivot to the correct facing way. Actually fits good with very little interior padding... Quote
captsafe66[Admin] Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 So the ATA works better with just padding inside, not headgear?? Quote
