Monster cool bro. I got two of them this morning... MMmmuuhaaa :D

I will first build the sandy, and then the stormy, and deploy you guys here as well ;)

Ā

Did you happen to order any of their soft parts as well? I ordered a belt which is still on the way. Just wondering how it looks.

They have pics on facebook of their belts They look very nice! I'll link you!

Nice, it's made by Clothears. Alison is awesome. She's making all of Olga's Boushh soft parts. What did the belt run you? I might have to hit her up for one.

Started working on the torso ... As always, I marked my trim lines with a pencil before trimming. This time I used my belt sander for trimming, and it was a breeze.

Beautiful!

Are you doing the original strapping? It looks like it might be a little tight on some of those returns to fit those bolts for the brackets.

Yes, I will be using brackets ... the photos that I've seen shows the screws in the corner of the return edge (front and back). I noticed on the original RS back plates... they were mounted completely off the return edge. But it looks like it was a repair made later on, as you can see a second set of holes in every case... I also noticed that they look more like pop rivets than screws.

I have a two part question...outstanding build so far!!!!!!!(by the way) Anyhoo, For anyone thinking of investing in RS, could you hold the kidney and the ab plate together and grab a tailor's meauring tape and measure the inside diameter of the clamshell? I'm sure if someone made this level of commitment, they would want to find out beforehand if they would fit. I would not want to shim this armor.

#2 part, on the strapping system for connecting the chest to the ab plate, how is this done when it seems like in all the pictures that the chest rests ON top of the ab plate but clearly hangs over in other pictures when the armor is worn?

Sorry to butt into the thread....

My mannequin has a 34" waist and 40" chest. The belt measures 46". I would imagine you could go up to 38-40" inch waist without shimming.

As for the chest and ab connection

Longer brackets on the chest and longer pieces of elastic basically.

I use one of these to erase pencil marks... doesn't leave any residue like a magic eraser does.
