DudeSidious Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 I know the ANH tube tripes were hand painted but did they use a stencil or was it done free hand? Quote
TK_LEPER Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 (edited) I think they made stencils with masking tape (or frisket) for each helmet. The number of stripes varied on a lot of the helmets. So I would be surprised if they used the same stencil for many of them. Edited November 27, 2011 by TK 4702 Quote
pandatrooper[TK] Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I think they used some tape for the top and bottom of the stripes and hand painted each stroke with a brush. The pics of the screen used lids led me to believe this, as the stripes are often inconsistently spaced and there's bleed lines under some of the stripes. Some say they were screen printed but that area of the cheek tube is too curved for screen printing and they don't really use screen printing for such small compound curves back then. Quote
DudeSidious Posted December 1, 2011 Author Report Posted December 1, 2011 Whats the colour of the stripes? French blue 14 or midnight blue 15? Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 Better to go with french blue. Quote
