Lupex[TK]
I was wondering if anyone could tell the lineage of this helmet? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Star-Wars-Stormtrooper-Helmet-kit-1-1-Fibreglass-prop-/370556851533?pt=UK_Collectables_SciFi_fantasyCollectables_EH&hash=item5646e8d54d#ht_500wt_922
Daetrin[Admin]
Recast AM I believe. Fiberglass will be heavy - you can get better lids for less via sellers on this board.
geordietrooper
its cheap but still a waste of money, probably fx related. i have yet to see a better lid thats cheaper than £39 though
Lupex[TK]
Thanks guys, can anyone point me to another cheap lid for a mates new sandy?
TK_LEPER
MTK makes, assembles, and paints sandy lids. I don't know what you're idea of "cheap" is ... But it would be an option. Other than that, I would suggest buying an ATA kit and building/painting it. The second way is more fun. J
Lupex[TK]
The MGM lids do look really nice and it would be good to make up a lid from scratch but it's not for me, I have a mate that wants to do a sandy on the cheap as he has limited cash at the moment, hence why I resorted to looking on evil bay. TrooperVenger
At the end of the day you get what you pay for. ATA is 'cheap' but not cheap and nasty cheap. It is allot of fun building and painting your own lid. As for the lineage of the helmet. I'm not really sure. But I'm no expert.
gazmosis[501st]
ATA all the way!!! You won't be sorry. TK-4510 Mike at trooperbay has an awsome helmet as well.

Lupex[TK]
here is a completed lid, it looks like an fx but different? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Star-Wars-Stormtrooper-Helmet-1-1-Fibreglass-prop-/370560472450?pt=UK_Collectables_SciFi_fantasyCollectables_EH&hash=item5647201582 It has a rounder dome? tkrestonva[TK]
It's AM, which is simply FX with a updated (rounded) dome. A recasted AM at that - AM helmets aren't made of fiberglass.

AM has a rounder dome than FX, it's one of the few changes they made to the helmet when they went from making FX to AM (it's same people behind both kits)
bluehickey
That's an ugly piece of crap, stay away!
geordietrooper
recast fx with a rounder dome was done long before the AM version Edited November 22, 2011 by geordietrooper
