blastech Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 hi all, sorry if this is in the wrong place and fell free to move if nessacery, any way here goes.i have seen here on the forum to keep away from these costumes but i am wondering if it would be okay to get this as i have NO intention to troop in my costume.the only reason i want a tk cossie is just so that i have one as im a long time fan.it looks okay to me and i dont think the average person would know the difference between the different types, after all it looks like a tk.another reason i ask is because it appears to be complete with all the work pre done and i have been stung big time in the past from a so-called "reputable and trust worthy" prop builder and as a result my confidence in cossie supliers has been somewhat shaken and i dont know who to trust any more,thanks...and sorry for the rant Quote
Trooper1972 Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 (edited) Mate, please do not do it, Jedi Robe are well over priced for the quality that they produce. It may be worth sending a PM to Troopermaster on here and asking him if he does a ready made set of armour. I know that he does pre built lids but as for the armour ?? TM has a very very good name in this community and you will not get stung. Dont rush in a waste money at JR - TM is the best whether you want to troop or just display. Another option is to get in touch with the guys at RS props, you can find them on Facebook and send them a message. They do a set of armour/lid that has been cast from an original screen used set. So there are a few options for you. Hope that helps. Oh and one last thing - if you have the armour there will be a day that you will want to troop it.. Trust me Dont just look at a Stormtrooper - Be a Stormtrooper Where you from buddy ?? Send me a PM.. Edited November 9, 2011 by Graeme1972 Quote
carbonitekid Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 IMHO I would still avoid Jedi robe/stormtrooper shop like the plague. If not for the fact that what they sell is over priced tat then as a matter of principle for all those they have ripped off over the years. For the price they are charging you can get a far better kit and find someone to help you with the build. Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience with a " "reputable and trust worthy" prop builder" , most of those who have dealings with the forum membership are noted for their good customer services. On a side note I see you say you have no interest in trooping in the white stuff. Does that mean your not a cleared member of the 501st? I only ask as you are using the TK number of a member of the German garrison for your screen name. Quote

xaoslord Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Damien, I don't know where you are located, but if the other options do not work out, you can look at the 501st website and find your local Garrison. You may be able to find someone near you who would be able to help you put a set together. Good Luck! Quote
Trooper1972 Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Damien, are you in the UK mate - Its seems to me you are if you were looking at that unmentionable shop... Register yourself with us at the UK Garrison www.ukgarrison.co.uk. Introduce yourself and explain yourself there and I am sure that you will get alot of very experienced people offering advice. Quote

Baldenwonder Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Hi Damien, I agree with the guys above - I have some TM here ready to build and it is absolutely gorgeous - really glossy armour that's not only super accurate but will give you the option to troop if wanted in the future Quote

Baldenwonder Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Hi, Sounds cool, would be great to see some pics of the mandolorian armour. You can see some really good pics on this site in the Centurion requests section - I'll start a build thread shortly too. Really helpful people on here and on the UK Garrison sites. I sold some fett armour to go toward the TK armour, I realised building a fett costume would take ages to get right and having the helmet signed helped put a stop to it : Quote
Lone wolf[TK] Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Surely when you were a member of the Emerald Garrison you must have read the many, many posts about Stormtrooper shop/Jedi Robes? I am surprised if you didn't read some of the reputable suppliers available. I hope you enjoy the FISD forums. Quote

Arnie_DK[TK] Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 I was stupid enough to just press the buy button at jedirobe, and i have had a lot of work with this so called "ready to wear" armour! If you want i can send you some pictures of the suit, before and after my mods, just so you can see the work done to it. Even after many hours work, its only just good enough for 501st standars. Right now I'm waiting for a brand new TM suit Quote
