My AP lid is very tight to get over my head. I can corkscrew it on with effort, but man it is a tight pinch. The opening is about 6.5 inches on the width.

Is it recommended that I shave some more meat off of this? How much is too much? I don't want to ruin the look or be able to see in. Thoughts?

Right on Lucas! :)

AP lids are pretty tight in general, and once you put the neck trim on ... it's even harder to put it on.

Yeah trim it up a bit but not too much. If you trim it to where Lucas has indicated and it's still too tight, you might be better off selling the lid and getting a bigger one.

I usually take most of the front faceplate and cut. the back n cap does not really need a trim. about a 1/4" or less really makes a difference.
