Turtle84 Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 So the last thread I have read about 501st armor requirements for the TKC was dated in 2009. I have ordered an AP helmet and plan on ordering a FX kit for the armor. Was just wondering if the 501st was still running with the idea that all that was needed was a paint job? Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 Pretty much if all you want to achieve is 501st acceptance. You can find the official and signed off CRL at http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_commander If you want to dial it up a notch, going Expert Infantryman isn't really all that much more work. ;-) Quote
dashrazor Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 the base requirements are pretty much the same (ANH stunt with correct paint markings), it is the EIB and centurion standards that have changed for the most part . for the EI centurion the armor is ROTJ style (any make of armor can be made to this style) like the boss said, its not much more work great to see another TKC in the works! Turtle84 Posted August 9, 2011 Author Report Posted August 9, 2011 I stand corrected, the helmet I ordered is an RT-Mod. This won't be a problem will it? Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Yup. Pretty much every kit can be done for every costume. It's just how you assemble & paint it wth regards for 501st standards. If you want to go EI or Centurion, then some kits lend themselves to this costume better than others, e.g. JoeR's ROTJ will be easier out of the box than say an AM. Quote
Turtle84 Posted August 10, 2011 Author Report Posted August 10, 2011 I really think my biggest problem with going EI would be the belt, O2 canister, holster, and potentially the shoulder bells (then again that's pretty much all there is to it). Quote

fett 4 real Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Pretty sure but the ears should have bumps, and I dont really see them present on them Quote
Darth Voorhees[501st] Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 They should have bumps on the grey areas like Fett4real stated...BUT for basic 501st what you have there is fine. Thats a nice bucket Quote
dashrazor Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 your really going to need to contact RT-Mod for a new set of ears those will not pass.. email him at [email protected] Quote
Turtle84 Posted September 4, 2011 Author Report Posted September 4, 2011 Yeah I noticed that when the helmet arrived. Thanks for the address Mason. Quote
Turtle84 Posted September 4, 2011 Author Report Posted September 4, 2011 How would I go about adding on the new bumps? Should I try to shave down what is currently on the helmet and then add the bumps or would I be able to just put them on the existing space? Quote
seantrooper[TK] Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 contacting a maker for a new set of ears would be your best bet Just replace the ones you already have as modding them would be too difficult and not look as good as new ears. Quote
Turtle84 Posted September 4, 2011 Author Report Posted September 4, 2011 Yeah I e-mailed the address Mason sent me last night. I'm just concerned about the already raised portion of the ears. I don't want the ears to stick out way too far. I am thinking about probably sanding them down. Any comments/suggestions? Quote
