RedSpecial[TK] Posted August 3, 2011 Author Report Posted August 3, 2011 (edited) Well I only had enough clamps to do one thigh but it seems ok, ill be removing the clamps tonight. I think Im going to have to trim them a bit though as they might be a bit long for me either that or just cut a load of real estate out of the back so my knees can bend correctly. Heres todays progress so far First I gave the blaster a few coats of silver Whilst the silver dried I applied some small bits of masking tape to the scope and counter which will be removed to simulate scratches under the top coat ( I added the brass paint a couple of weeks ago) Then i gave everything a few coats of satin black Heres how the scope looked after I had removed the masking tape Then I finished the strapping on the torso by adding white painted brads and black elastic to the side. and i added the male snap on the outside right hand side of the ab piece I added these snaps previously to secure the belt but forgot to post the pic Later on tonight I'll remove the clamps from the thigh that I put together last night then clean it up and trim it to size if need be, then I'll probably assemble either the other arm or thigh. Splash Damage Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 What blaster kit did you use? Is it a Doopydoos? Looks nice. Quote
RedSpecial[TK] Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 Yeah its doopys full resin kit, considering the price it makes a pretty nice blaster. Quote
RedSpecial[TK] Posted August 6, 2011 Author Report Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Another day, Another update Today I got the other thigh assembled then after some test fitting I trimmed both the thighs to fit my short posterior I'll add the ammo knee to the right later on today. I also assembled the other arm and added elastic to the back plate for the shoulder bridges. Then I added the drop boxes to the belt And finally the button plates were added to the ab section Thats it for now, busy day so Im off to get some sleep. Tomorrow I'll assemble the shins, add the shoulder bridges and ammo knee and strap the arm I also have to build the TD but my Aluminium strips are still on the way so that will have to wait . For now though heres a few cheeky snaps of my finished E-11 Edited August 6, 2011 by RedSpecial Quote
RedSpecial[TK] Posted August 8, 2011 Author Report Posted August 8, 2011 And heres todays or maybe that should be yesterdays progress First I assembled the shins Heres a pic of the strapping system Im using for them I also added the sniper plate to the left shin and the shoulder bridges to the chest plate I added the battery pack to the right thigh using white painted brads ( you'll have to take my word for it though because I forgot to take a pic of them ) and Finally I declamped and strapped the right arm Im just waiting on a couple of things to arrive then I can assemble the thermal detonator and attach the holster to the belt. after that Im pretty much finished other than some tweaks here and there so hopefully I'll be submitting my clearance pics and 501st application soon Quote
RedSpecial[TK] Posted August 8, 2011 Author Report Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) I tried on the full set of armor for the first time today, it seems to fit fairly well. I didnt notice untill after the pics were taken but the right shin seems to have ridden up over my boot after walking down stairs so I'll need to secure it with velcro or something in future, or just avoid the stairs sorry for the bad quality of the pics ! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Edited August 8, 2011 by RedSpecial Quote
