BGHUNTER Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Id like to find out some of the serial No.s from screen used and production E11's if any one has a blaster with ties to a real production blasters stunt or other wise can you either post or pm me the serial No.s , spacifically the ones from the add in shots in ANH after its remastering Thanks Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) getting a count of the serial numbers of screen used blasters is most likely out of our understanding. as the production company did not track serial numbers from bapty. of course the members of the fisd have serial numbers in their rebuilds. but that is not a record of screen used serial numbers for sterling E-11's Edited July 5, 2011 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote
BGHUNTER Posted July 5, 2011 Author Report Posted July 5, 2011 Right well I figured some out there would have blasters with direct linage to screen used blasters as I thought there were other people who have cast parts the have origins from the real props Quote
TrooperTim Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 If you want a list of Sterling SNs you can search for that online or buy The Guns of Dagenham book. I found out that hyperfirm has a real serial number on their E-11s when my cylinders fell off the mag well. Quote
BGHUNTER Posted July 6, 2011 Author Report Posted July 6, 2011 Thanks TrooperTim Im actually trying to ID some E11 pieces I recently picked up as a lot with some other stuff (Old stuff) Quote
SamJ[501st] Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 (edited) I don't know how I missed this. I can't tell you what the SNs were but I can tell you what they weren't. None of them began with a 'S' as this wasn't used as a prefix until later. Problem is I had all this written down somewhere with names and firm dates but I can't find it now so I can't explain further. I remember the KR prefix is referring to their chief executive. Dare I ask what else you found? Edited July 15, 2011 by SamJ Quote
TrooperTim Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Yeah, I have no idea what Sterlings were used in the films. I'd guess it would be incredibly difficult to find that info. KR is the initials of Sterling's Managing Director Kenton Redgrave. It was first put into use with the MkII. The MkIV serials started at KR5001 and ended around KR114000. In 1972 Sterling changed ownership and MKIVs were serialized with an S in honor of the new owner's wife. Quote
SamJ[501st] Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Ooops, sorry, I found my file and somehow I wrote down '76 instead of '72, so it is possible that an original blaster would have a 'S' prefix afterall. Your best bet would be to compare your numbers with the year of manufacture. By the way weren't most of blasters in the addon shots MGC casts? If so there definitely is no serial number on them, or any MGC for that matter. Quote
