john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 I've been informed some folk think the snowtrooper resin stunt (promo E11 not seen in the film) isn't used by any TK in ESB Well here's 2 shots that show that it was There are loads of TKs in the chamber scene that are holding one The one pointing an E11 at Leia when they lower Han in. The one who walks behind Chewie as they enter the chamber. The one to the right innscreen behind Vader as he says 'He's all yours' Im not sure why some think they weren't used by normal TK.... Anything sticking up of the E11 scope rail, is the stunt. So let's discuss PS: the best lit shot is the one walking with Lando and Jeremy is the easiest to see (just before he grabs Leia) *NB it is missing the 3 dots but does have the scope rail add ons Quote
ZeroRoom[TK] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 There's no denying that guy behind Landon has greeblies on his scope rail. On my screen I just can't make anything out on the trooper next to Vader. This blaster issue is never gonna be solved! Damn you George Lucas why couldn't you have a kept a closer eye on prop consistency! Quote
john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 The silhouette I the easiest way to spot one. If the scope looks 'fat' or the rail has blobs jutting up, it's the stunt version. But yes, the one behind Lando plain as day has a greeblied up scope rail Quote
FIVE[501st] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 But yes, the one behind Lando plain as day has a greeblied up scope rail Agreed! But, do you also know that's Jeremy Bulloch walking next to Lando! Hmmm... did ya? Hmmmm? Quote
john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 Yes I knew that was Mr B. Think I mention it above so you'd know where to look. He'll of a coward grabbing Leia Quote
john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 This is my ESB E11 Very different to the E11 above...kind of Haven't given ROTJ much attention bur that looks like a ROTJ version yes. Different base and track etc Quote

And yes, very different... sort of... Quote
john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 That is a delightful Steve Rogers (Tango'd Fett) bad boy Been nagging him for a while for one and I won this at a UKG ball last year. I've been swimming in raw sewage. I love it Quote
moonwalker[501st] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) Bluey : Yes, this is a ROTJ blaster (BTW the ESB greeblies version appears two of three times in ROTJ too) Edited May 31, 2011 by moonwalker Quote
FIVE[501st] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Is it resin?! That's so nice looking... I just can't bring myself to buy a resin blaster. Quote
moonwalker[501st] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 AFAIK Hyperfirm blasters are resin yes... If you talk about the ROTJ one But I could be wrong. Quote
john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 I thought all hyperfirm blasters are urathane foam? Steve Rogers are urathane parts over a PVC pipe Quote
moonwalker[501st] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 As I said, I really could be wrong... Just read that a while ago, but I never saw one, so... Quote
FIVE[501st] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Yes, all sci-fire are urethane/foam. I was asking about the one John posted a pic of. Side Note (i.e., derailing): Benji, the word "Its" in your signature image needs an apostrophe. It should be "It's". That is if you want to be correct. Quote
john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 Ah, but maybe I was wrong? Lol I dont categorically know that scifire don't make resin stuff As I said, I really could be wrong... Just read that a while ago, but I never saw one, so... Quote
FIVE[501st] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Ah, but maybe I was wrong? Lol I dont categorically know that scifire don't make resin stuff Well, as far as that goes, I could be too... but I think they only make urethane. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 ESB blasters with those greeblies are actually resin plastic toys on the set of the film. so having a resin blaster of the ESB type is completely screen accurate. the sci fire is ROTJ. it's foam over a carbon rod. you can clearly see the ESB greeblie stunt in ESB, and they all were resin props. as far as "prop consistency" and "poor old george" actually what sets STAR WARS and all the films apart from each other is the subtle changes made, which illustrate the passage of time and the progress of weapons and armor in the empire. it's all these changes that make the hobby fun for me! john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 Good guys Glad a are few are agreeing. I know a stunt E11 is allowed for ESB TKs but to say they weren't used on set is untrue. Embrace the ugly stunt Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 The ugly stunt in this case being a ANH E-11 without hengstler or power cylinders, right? Quote
john danter Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 No dude. The one above in my post Or this one thats in the promo but thought only to be in the hands of TS My point of this post is TKs clearly hold them too Watch this scene and click pause just before this frame TK clearly has the greeblie ESB resin stunt version Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Ah, okey. I thought that was the standard ESB version. Quote
ZeroRoom[TK] Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) I love the greeblies. Not sure about the solid scope rail. On another note: is that scope on the sci fire gun accurate? Even for ROTJ? It looks weird... Edited June 1, 2011 by ZeroRoom Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 john's thread here is a perfect example of the greeblie ESB stunt blaster. every single detail is perfect. the design was taken from an actual screen used replica that was originally offered by "pugman" Tango 'd fett has the parts available for making them. Sci-Fire weapons, while close to accurate, are not the best representation of the accuracy of the prop that john is showcasing here. The Sci- Fire ROTJ could be a tad bit better... Quote
john danter Posted June 1, 2011 Author Report Posted June 1, 2011 Good spot there dude But yes, same guys so I guess a few must be ESB stunts Quote
ZeroRoom[TK] Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 So John, if the ESB stunt blaster (as opposed to the promo) is the same as ANH minus the hengstler, is the scope the same M-38 on this version or the other style scope? Quote
