Sonnenschein Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 Does anyone know the exact diameter of the MGC sterling? not the one from the bbc templates. Thanks! Quote
TK_LEPER Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 (edited) 4130 steel 1.50 OD x 1.370 ID for correct fit. Edited May 30, 2011 by TK 4702 Quote
Sonnenschein Posted May 30, 2011 Author Report Posted May 30, 2011 Thanks Jesse! That would be 38mm OD and 35 mm ID. I always thought the MGC was much smaller, like 35mm OD. Quote
dashrazor Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 i read somewhere that it is 1.25" OD but i am asking on the modelgun forums to be sure Quote
TK_LEPER Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 Oops, no... I have a Sterling SMG. Must have read the header incorrectly. Sorry guys! :B Quote
SamJ[501st] Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 OD of the MGC is 35mm. I just measured mine. Quote
dashrazor Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 this is what i got from the model gun forums: Ā 36.5mm OD (depending on measurement location), translating to about 1.42 in. Ā This is only 2mm difference, so if real Sterling was made of 1mm thicker steel, it would have the same OD and ID. Quote
Lichtbringer Posted May 30, 2011 Report Posted May 30, 2011 They are different, so there is no "would". Quote
Sonnenschein Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 Thanks everybody! Now I'm off to find the correct pipe.... Quote
dashrazor Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 after looking a bit it seems 32mm waste pipe is around 36mm O.D. it should be close enough. Quote
TANGO'D FETT Posted June 2, 2011 Report Posted June 2, 2011 36mm for MGC 38mm for sterlings , if you get stuck we have 36mm pvc plumbing pipe here in the UK and can send you a bit Quote
