Sonnenschein Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Sad news. Austrian Postal Service drastically increased the fees, about +€10 (+ $14) for a single pair of hand guards. Therefore, I can no longer offer any of my items. To worsen things: I already got several items returned to my address, and very few I couldn't get out so for. If you still wait for my items, please give me a few days to sort everything out. If you're one of my customers who is affected by this situation, contact me and we will work it out. sincerely, Karin Quote

Sonnenschein Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 John, unfortunately, yes. Right now, I'm looking into a different carrier. Things look good for the European Union. Jason, your pair should arrive anyday now Mathias, if people are willing to pay more, of course. But I doubt it that there'll be any interest. Quote
jk007 Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 (edited) Karin just confirmed mine were posted. Edited May 3, 2011 by jk007 Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I wouldn't mind paying a little extra. I already got a pair, but I'll be upgrading in the future. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 I wouldn't mind paying a little extra. I already got a pair, but I'll be upgrading in the future. Looks like a found a solution for europe. Just need to find a supllier for small boxes. For overseas orders, I'd need a distributor in Canada, who'd mail runs of 10. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Glad to hear it will work out for the EU! I'm pretty sure someone in Canada will step up. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Posted May 3, 2011 oh, and another change: no more gloves, just the hand guards. Unless you order them seperately. regardless, I'm freezing production until everything is sorted out. Please contact my via PM or email if you have any questions karin Quote
JoeR Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Karin I have family who live in Ottawa who would help if you needed a hand in Canada. If not I'm sure there are Canadian members here. If we at CfO can help at all please let us know... Joe Quote

Femtrooper Julie[501st] Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I would say everyone here would understand the increase in shipping costs and would be willing to pay whatever they are. It is a must have piece for EIB. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 mike sure can help you out karin! bulk orders handled from mike's shop!~ USA solved! Quote
Sonnenschein Posted May 4, 2011 Author Report Posted May 4, 2011 mike sure can help you out karin! bulk orders handled from mike's shop!~ USA solved! Vern, AJ, Unfortunately, it's NOT that easy. See, due to some "anti-terrorism-law" shipments TO the US are limited to 500grams, which are 4 pairs of hand guard without gloves. I'll find a way. I have to... Thanks for all your kind words and offers Quote
ctankep Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) What about mine karin? I payed for them two weeks ago? Gloves with glued on handguards for my centurion application... Edited May 4, 2011 by ctankep Quote
Sonnenschein Posted May 4, 2011 Author Report Posted May 4, 2011 Varg, yours should arrive any days now. No worries! Quote
davej[TK] Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Mathias, if people are willing to pay more, of course. But I doubt it that there'll be any interest. Karin, we pay anything up to $500 US to get a suit of armour sent to Australia, so I don't think a bit extra for hand guards is going to bother anyone. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted May 4, 2011 Author Report Posted May 4, 2011 Thanks, Dave! I just don't get the new regulations '(even the lady at the post officce is confused). They know charge by weight and dimensions. An example: A small roll of lense material would cost USD11 for shipping alone, because it's thicker than 5mm.. before, It was just 3 bucks... I'm looking into going to Slovakia 2 times a month and mail the stuff from there... seriously. To be honest, I'm quite fed up right now. But after 3 years of work I don't want them to "die out" Maybe I'll retire... but will "pass the torch on" first. Look out for a new casting show: FISD's next King/Queen of Hand Guards Quote
