stukatrooper Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 I have been charged with building and reviewing the all new CFO Ruturn Of the Jedi suit.Which has been the sweetheart of our esteemed members JoeR and Sskunky joe and mark. The molds are from film used parts, the icing on the cake being the ROTJ helmet. The build will follow as close as i can get to the way the ROTJ suit were constructed, and as these are non modified ROTJ parts should go together well. All parts ams and legs will have the overlap clamshell finish tipical of ROTJ suits unlike the butt joint and finishing strip on the ANH/ESB suits.the suit parts (arms and legs) have been made this way and go together very well ,and have all the tells from the ROTJ original parts.Note the bicep thin profile and the pinched shoulder bell. All the parts have been weathered the forest moon of Endor style,as that is i feel the only way the ROTJ suit should be presented. Just like the sandtroopers from ANH with their desert grim,The ROTJ strormtrooper should have field weathering. Quote
DarkTrooper[TK] Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Awesome pictures. I love the weathering. You're right, it gets dirty out there in the forest too. Quote
sskunky Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) It looks amazing! I love the weathering. Brings it to a whole new level. Can't wait to see more. Edited April 23, 2011 by sskunky Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 That's one sweet overlapping armour! Quote
SW1 Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Oh yer baby luv the Endor weathering mate top creation as always , cant wait to see this all come together Quote
stukatrooper Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 The back plate like so many of the CFO ROTJ parts has wonderfully lazy lines almost an organic feel to it. Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Awesome work Pete as always Quote
sskunky Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 It's wonderful to see someone else's take on my armour. That's it, I'm weathering my build now. Stand by for something a little different. I'm going for that dirty forest look of Endor Troopers. I'm going to use the old film prop trick of wood staining the scratches and recesses and buffing to the required state using scotch pads. I'm working on the ABS version. Back to this awesome build. Pete you are doing us proud buddy! Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Not only is this an amazing build thread in it's own right with a lovingly applied attention to detail, but it takes the ROTJ trooper to a whole new level to really show how good an ROTJ trooper can be from the ground up, using ROTJ armor. stukatrooper Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 The torso features the trim excusive to the ROTJ stormtrooper, there is no return edge on any of the torso parts, the trim becomes the return. I am really starting to like this suit. Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 This is a beautiful example of "light weathering" too. Very subtle. Sandy brothers can take a lot of lessons on this. Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 WOW that ab plate is way different to the ANH version... Quote
TKCaleb Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Loving it!!! Awesome stuff here man! Caleb Quote
pandatrooper[TK] Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Fantastic work as always Pete!! Looks great. Quote
stukatrooper Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 The build is falling into place very well and the CFO kit is fantastic to work with.Sorry to the Death Star troopers out there that are parade ready all very clean, but this is ROTJ we are taking about here ! That Endor forest is no place for white armour. Hats off to the CFO guys for taking the time and effort to get the suit builder friendly. More to follow V soon. Quote
dashrazor Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 wow! that is looking sweet the trimmed look really has grown on me a lot since making my ICN. i hope you are planning to go EI/centurion we could really use more ROTJ troopers in the ranks.. Quote
JoeR Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 You certainly are Professor Pete the Stormtrooper Doctor! Love it, awesome work. You are a true artisan Pete. Quote
stukatrooper Posted April 29, 2011 Author Report Posted April 29, 2011 The ROTJ butt na kidney are in one part unlike the ANH,ESB which are seperated. The CFO ROTJ helmet is from a direct cast of an original helmet. Quote
FIVE[501st] Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 I can not get over how amazing this is!! Quote
JoeR Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 Wow Pete wow! That helmet looks perfect. Amazing work! Joe Quote
