Right side ab and kidney attachments ?

On the right side of the armour do the ab and kidney sections attach by just the popper thats visible on the ab section or are there other straps hidden inside the armour to keep the two sections closed ?

 

Ive seen people do both but im not sure whats considered correct.

I have snaps on the inside and velcro.

For accuracy the elastic is glued to the rear and attaches to the single snap. The belt holds the lower part in place.
