Sonnenschein Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Until now, I thought the helmets were only glued together. In another thread, Joe informed me that also rivets were used (and to fix the chin straps) Is there any more info/pics on this subject? Quote
FIVE[501st] Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 The originals were riveted. You can see the rivets, and holes, on starwarshelmets.com in the pics there. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 Noel, we're in the ROTJ section I know ANH (and ESB) were riveted Quote
FIVE[501st] Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I thought that was an awfully silly question from you... Quote
Verne Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 It seems that the ROTJ v2 ("doggy" face style) were riveted and ROTJ background (ESB v2 re-used) glued. I guess that JoeR have the answer Quote
iconoclasta_88[501st] Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 I am very interested in finding an answer for this question. So far I have concluded that they were glued together, and then a single rivet was used to attach the chin strap. But then, there are reference picts where there is no way a rivet was used... I am partially stuck in my build cause I don't know if I should add rivets or not. Either for the chin strap or the build itself. I really don't want to fix the ear caps until I am at least 99.99% sure I am doing it the right way. Saludos. Quote
