FIVE[501st] Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) There should be 6 ridges before they reach the "end" of the chest plate and hang off in the back, so it looks like you're holding them down far enough. You need to do a couple of things that I can tell... move them over so they're more angled and pointing inward on the chest cut them down a bit closer so the "edge" isn't as wide clamp the hell out of them and glue them down Here are mine for reference... ----- But do NOT use "ME" as reference... Go look at screen grabs and such to see how much to cut off, how much to angle, and so on. I think the main thing you're doing wrong is the angle. Wiggleplum Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 How big are your shoulders, dude?!? lol, I had to lower my back plate a bit so all the pieces sit flush and there are no gaps between the kidney, butt, etc. I originally had the six ridges on the front, but the bridges were barely long enough, so I decided to do 3 instead so I have a little leeway. TK bondservnt[501st] Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 (edited) I've seen from 3-6 used on the gluedown on the front. make sure you're not gluing painted surfaces. the front gluedown varies depending upon your chest's dimensions. the larger you are, the less you'd use. between 3-and 4 the smaller you are, then the larger the number you'd use. I see that han's armor has 4-5 and luke has less glued down. part of getting them to lay flat is using heat to shape them a little. just a few seconds over a hot flame and the tips should bend nicely to contour better. just heat them up a little at a time and keep test fitting them. put in the freezer for a few minutes to set them. don't put too much clamping pressure when using metal clamps and e6000 it can generate heat and warp them.
