Have one of the first CFO ROTJ helmet kit since several month and finally decided to finish it.

Since this one is made out of biscuit ABS, I decided to go for a screen used look!

Now, I have to finish the glossy one into a clean ROTJ helmet!!

Very nice , it certainly has the ROTJ look, just needs a few Ewoks bashing the sh.t out of it.

Looks spot on! ;) I would say this is one of you best helmets and you have put together many good ones sir. Quick question; are those your decals? they look very nice :duim:

Thanks guys.

Yes Armando, I made these decals in silkscreened style (painted adhesive vynil). I made the pattern with the help of a scan of original decals (modified on photoshop). ;)

Let me tell you this Fabien, those are the best ROTJ decals I have seen so far. You did an outstanding job. Well done my friend :salute:

Cheers

Many thanks!

Yes Paul, I guess that I should change the frown paint. I was affraid to make it too large, but finally it's not enough <_<

I used a matt black enamel paint for this helmet. But the light of the room and the pictures give the effect of a satin finish.

I have to re do the work.

This is the second style helmet offered by CFO. More pics to come (with a first style too!!!)

Hard to tell which one I prefer. Both are incredible (I talk about the kit... I would not pretend that my builds are exceptionnal).

It's too different helmets. But I would tend for the ESB MK II / ROTJ v1 style which isthe best representation of the stormtrooper helmet according to me (not as "ugly" or "deformed" than an HDPE helmet or wonky doggy style ROTJ..... but hey, all the defects makes the charm of a stormtrooper helmet is!! ^^)

And here's both helmets:

Sorry for the crap pics, I took them too fast!

Some details: Two helmet kits from CFO. One is the JoeR helmet (ROTJ v2) and the other one is the second style (ESB MKII/ ROTJ v1) actually offered by Mark "sskunky".

The ROTJ v2 is made out of gloss ABS. I massembled it in order to reproduce an Endor style helmet, thus with a huge weathering. I tried to be as accurate as possible, thus I used casted of original mic tips, green acrylic bubble lenses, U shaped brow trim, S shaped neck trim and textured decals made by hands (with my own pattern)

The singularity of this helmet is the right rear decals and the mic tips.

Largely inspired by this one:

For the second helmet (ROTJ v1), I used the few pics I had of John original helmet to help (but didn't tried to make an exact copy)

Same treatment, ABS "pinseal" kit. ANH/ESB style ears from an RSprop helmet kit. Same thing for the mic tips, from CFO (those are excellent).

Lenses, rubber trim identical. Same process for the decals (I 'm not sure that the original were "silkscreened" due to the lack of HD close up pics, but I suppose the ILM crew made them the same way as the ESB and ROTJ V2 decals. The color and the shape are different.
