Jester Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 hello all, just a quick question about paint's. I want to paint my td / co2 canister the right colour (grey) but how many 14ml pot's of #5 does it take to do before i order some.? And its there any thing else i can use for the silver trims? i was thinking about using some large jubile clips and cutting of the screw notche's. Quote
john danter Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Mylar tape from maplins if you really want to dude. Id just use clips mate. Also I'd say the humbrol #5 does come now in cans. If not I'd just use battleship grey Do you post on the UKG boards dude? Quote

mrfurious Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 mark i used grey spray primer on my td canister. hopefuly thats ok Quote
troopermaster Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 I reckon any grey satin should do the job. Try and take a piece of grey plastic pipe (from B&Q) to get a colour match as that is what used on the original costume (obviously not from B&Q though ). There are no silver trims on them either, just metal belt clips Quote
Jester Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Posted September 11, 2007 i have sprayed it with a grey primer but looks so flat, maybe if i put a coat of clear lacer over the top, might make it looka bit more presentable. Quote
mrfurious Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 paul, are the clips jubilee type ones? Quote
troopermaster Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 No mate. Flat aluminium bar 1 1/4" available in B&Q bent to shape. Hold on and I will pos a pic of one of mine which is pretty close to the real version. Here you go Quote

mrfurious Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 FBJ where did you get the clips from mate Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 FBJ where did you get the clips from mate 'Jarrolds of Norwich' but you should be able to get them from any department store or even a market. These become more popular nearer xmas as stocking fillers so they should be easy to find. Quote
mrfurious Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 what are they called?? money clips? Quote
stukatrooper Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 I got some aluminium strip 20mm in width bent and shaped it for a good look and fit to my canvas belt.I found that it marked my armour rubbing the back plate so i put some white velco loop on to stop that .worked out real well.
