Where are some good, high-res images of an ESB E-11 blaster?

Posted

In a thread from years ago I posted up a bunch of screen grabs from ESB. I'm not even sure of the title of the thread, but I think it had to do with EIB requirements and the promo EBS blaster that had been cast and was being offered at the time with extra greeblies on it.

Yeah, I thought I had that bookmarked, but couldn't find it... hence this post. :P

Let me know if you find, and I will do the same.

In the meantime... anyone else?

It all depends if you want to go Screen used Blaster or promo Blaster, Personally I prefer Screen Used to promo, but that's just me.

Screen used.

(minus this pic... right?) :D

I have a Folder of pictures a member here (Don't remember who, sorry) posted a while back about ESB Stormtroopers and while the focus is the armor, a few shots show the blasters

Whist not a genuine one, this is mine, based on a real one

Thing you can't see in these pics is the lense material. It's like C3POs eyes

That's awesome John, thanks!

But... it has the greeblies. :)

I guess the kind most of the TKs had on Cloud City.

I like the greeblies... if that's what most of them had, then great... just want it to be most known as the ESB blaster.

Nice blaster! but what do you mean with lense material? unsure.gif

Thanks :)

I mean in the scope Karin

Noel: they had all sorts. Carbonite chamber the lads on standby seem to have the grreblie version.

But the one who stands behind Leia as she starts to recoil from Vader has the normal railed one like ANH.

Up to you.

Personally I'd go for the ones like mine as it's clear what it is (to those who know)

Otherwise it just looks like an ANH blaster minus the counter box.....?

That's kind of my thoughts about it...

the ROTJ version is based upon a MGC sterling copy. the mgc version has many different details.

the dimension of the tube is smaller 35mm

the bolt. end cap and barrel front.

the folding stock and grips.

everything is slightly different.

even the trigger is different!

then you add the sight rail, scope and hammer greeblies for the final touches.

the front sling mount and C channel grip tracks on the barrel finally make for the

distinguishing features on the ROTJ version...

Does this help?

L to R

ROTJ x 2, ESB, ANH

It's a different base gun for a start. Canadian MGC thingie. Sterling variant.

T track has gone, ROTJ use C shaped fins

Clips have been replaced with concerte clips. Some greeblies have gone

Scope is different

hopefully the line up above shows it a little more

Nice collection you have there John , the ROTJ on the far left is the LFL promo version I think as it has t track instead of U channel, they used them for the special edition releases.

if you check out the parts of star wars there is a lot of info on the differences in the versions , basically the ESB stunt (3rd from left) is as john said the most recognised as an ESB E11 as the only really obvious difference on the hero ESB is the M19 scope opposed to the M38 which is recognised as the ANH version.

The MGC version was used in ROTJ as all the trooper scenes were shot in the US and it was the nearest base gun they could get to the UK sterling. Its actually a copy of the canadian C1 which is in itself a sterling copy !! basically its a recast ;)
