jnnfr72[TK] Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 I thought this was THE BOX on 12-28-10 ... turned out to be a wall clock my work gave me for enduring 15 years. I was SO EXCITED, then SO LETDOWN. It was kinda funny! Vladimir thinks I'm insane, that's why the ears are back. Viktor is helping me with my horde of goodies... Got my 1st item a while back, thx TKittell Thanks for the drop boxes, Kevin - kwdesigns then smarties AND 2 awesome fans, thanks to Curtis / TK-4261 Karin's very cool (and diabolical looking!) choking gloves with rubber hand guards and GUN N HOLSTER pix coming later - no hurry Quote

Can't wait to follow in your footsteps. DO hurry with the gun pic, though! That's one thing I'm shopping around for right now, and really excited about, haha. Quote

jnnfr72[TK] Posted January 29, 2011 Author Report Posted January 29, 2011 Thx Sarah, The 1st ones were $5 cheaper than the TK. For awesome shoe selection - I have to recommend SHOEBUY.COM. I totally LOVE them. But, they don't have anything close to the TKBoots. - So, I love TKBoots, too! Y'all have a good weekend. Quote
Femtrooper Julie[501st] Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 First ones! LOL! Looking good! Quote
jnnfr72[TK] Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 http://s853.photobucket.com/albums/ab99/jnnfr72/?albumview=slideshow I got my armor yesterday!!!!! Wooo Hooooo!!!!! How did they get ALL THAT to fit neatly in 1 box?! [The pictures are in backwards order and my 2 trusty assistants are Greg and Vladimir.] I think it will be another week before I get the courage to start trimming. I'll have updates next week!! Quote
Sarathe Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Wow, that was really well packed! Yay that you got it...do you have the tools to get started? Quote
jnnfr72[TK] Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 Hey Sarah, I have an old exacto knife, but am going to wal mart to buy a new one. I have painter's tape and E6000. I have a heat gun and modeling iron, and clamps and magnets, but I'm lacking courage right now! haaaa haaaa.... I still need sandpaper and a pair of sturdy gloves. I'm scared of slicing my fingers - I'm a bit accident prone. Quote
Sarathe Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I call that smart thinking, hahahaa Maybe it will help to pick out where you will be starting, and then watching build videos of that all weekend. I know every time I start watching them, I itch to get my armor here already! Quote

When it comes to cutting the material, just use the score and snap method... Start with the arms first to get you acclimated to your build. Link to the arm tutorial: http://www.whitearmor.net/home/tutorials/armor-tutorials/arms.html BTW, which TK version are you doing? Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 clamp a metal ruler or a piece of aluminum to the armor. score the armor 2 times with the box cutter. take a pair of pliars and bend back and forth carefully. snap. one fast clean cut!! sand edge with 60 grit lightly. done! for curves, use a pair of short bladed scissors or a pair of tin snips! Quote
jnnfr72[TK] Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 Hey Sarah and Vern, Thanks for the encouragement and awesome info. I will be watching other people's armor builds and following Vern's good advise. I'm going with ANH style. I'm going to take my time and try to have fun, oh and will take LOTs and LOTs of pictures, too! Quote
