john danter Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) I've got a break from work ATM so am busy revisiting some of my moulds and this week I've been mostly eating ESB hand plates Do they look ok? Or do I need to mod them at all? I mainly based them on this pic here What do you think? They'll be £5 a pair when I'm happy with them Edited January 26, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Alas, I'm not an expert but at least they look cool Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 hello john, those look really good! where did the original photos come from? thx! Quote
trooper18938 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 the top photo looks to be from one of the LFL exibits - the bumpy texture being the double-sided tape used to secure the two halves of the gauntlet - ala Boba Fett. Quote
tk7713gra30 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Hi John I will have a set please when done. Can you put me on the lists. Please PM costs when ready and I can PP you, I am UK Many thanks Graham Quote

Rich330[TK] Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 this week I've been mostly eating ESB hand plates ... and a big willy! Quote
troopermaster Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Looking good, John! But, the originals are not exact mirror images of each other and you could try blending in the strips so they don't have a hard edge. You can see the hand plates taper up to the top strips rather than being rounded and have the strip on top. They are not shaped how you would expect them to be. Quote
troopermaster Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) These might help you out- ---------- Edited February 25, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
john danter Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) I catch your drift Cheers Paul. What did you base them on? Screen grabs and stuff? They remind me of horses hooves Edited January 8, 2011 by john danter Quote
SamJ[501st] Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 John, they look great. Matching up nicely to the TS reference pics, may have to grab some off you soon. Quote
troopermaster Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Those are photos of TE2 ESB hand plates I was sent as reference for my sculpts. These were cast from a real ESB MKII suit that came from Cameron Oakleys original suit. Quote
john danter Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 Do those look the same as the snowie shots above though? Could just be the weathering they used on the edges? Quote
troopermaster Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 They are the same, just pulled in thicker plastic and maybe over trimmed a bit at the wrists. I'd make your moulds sharp and only use the originals as reference. Those photos will help you get the sizes right. Quote

troopermaster Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Yes, that's correct. They are the exact same thing though Edited January 8, 2011 by troopermaster Quote
sskunky Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Cam said that were no handplates with the original suit..... Quote
