I see lots and lots of picture by picture how-to's and they're great. I've learned tons from them. Sadly I'm easily confused on occasion and was wondering if there are any video tutorials here on the site.

The closest thing I can think of is Dave's Garage videos on youtube. There are troopers who post personal videos here explaining their scratch built blasters and such, but nothing officially from this forum.

i made a few short vids showing some alternative trimming methods

trimming armor with a belt sander

trimming ears with a home made hot wire foam cutter

nothing in depth or fancy ;) yet....

I know not everyone has a high opinion of him, but Andrew Ainsworth has included some videos on his new site

(Link to video:

)

It starts off with him showing the vacuforming process, but if you jump to about 10mins, he shows a bit of assembling the armour too.

Loved the way you were determined not to put the camera down and use 2 hands there :)

Yeah seen Andrews videos. Quite informative.

I was hoping to see signs of reconstruction on his lid backcap mould....but there's none. Hmm.....?

those videos actually show him sculpting a new faceplate. and andrew has stated that he modified the cap n back on his battle spec

helmets using some CNC machining.
