Jamtrooper Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Hey Troops, I'm almost done with my first build!! Can't wait to premiere it on Halloween. Just wondering about the blaster. I'm in Los Angeles. Will I have trouble with the police or security at bars/clubs with this fake gun? I've seen people at the cons put orange tape on the tips. Is that all I need or should I just leave it at home for the night? Quote
mattastic13 Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 I would recommend leaving it at home. Quote
Tray[TK] Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 yeah, I would leave it at home as well. TKs look just as badass without a blaster as they do with anyway. Quote
Blastmaster Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 I agree, Leave it at home, Don't want to see on the news about a TK getting shot by police or anybody else, Be safe leave it at the Pad. Have fun, AL Quote
dashrazor Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 just think... this could be you get the e-11 smackdown... Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) put orange tape on the front, and carry it. no big deal. I would holster it, and then take it out for photos. Edited October 23, 2010 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote
bluehickey Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Leave it at home, not worth the risk. Besides, the blaster is an accessory and not essential. Quote
vicsouders Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I plan on bringing mine, but I'm in a town of 300 people (and everyone knows I'm the Star Wars nut), so I don't think I'll have an issue. In LA? Not sure I'd even want to risk it. Quote
pandatrooper[TK] Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Mots "clubs" and parties where I live do not allow weapons of any kind. I remember I had some friends that dressed as SWAT guys, and had their toys guns held at the bar, etc. or not allowed in at all. one group dressed as "Kill Bill" and the Uma Thurman girl and the guys in suits / masks (Crazy 88's) had their kiddie plastic and foam blade ninja swords taken. It's all in the name of safety. All it takes is some drunk guy to start spinning a wooden stick around, and someone is going to lose an eye. Quote
Smitty Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 If I'm trooping at a bar, I leave my armnaments at home. Besides its easier to cut the rug on the dance floor without a heavy E-11 in tow. Quote
Darksaber212[TK] Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 (edited) There is always this. ----------- Edited July 30, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link removed no longer working Quote
Jamtrooper Posted October 23, 2010 Author Report Posted October 23, 2010 I think I'll leave it on my ship. Thanks for the advice. Quote
Femtrooper Julie[501st] Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Waikiki police seemed to be understanding, just no brandishing or menacing with it. My holster is riveted on, and looks empty without the E-11 Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I've trooped at the bar with the E-11, no problem. everyone wants to look it over... whenever you carry a blaster with a real scope, it gets more attention than the armor. and everyone wants to try on the helmet... it's a costume. and pirates, and axes and lightsabres are always fun. I live in a college town, so it's always understood when you have a stormtrooper helmet, with a blaster. only time I've ever been asked was at san francisco, where the policeman at the door thought it was real. (paint does wonders.) when I told him it was a solid plastic pipe, he was shocked to see that indeed it was. then he complimented me on it, and checked it over with admiration. Quote
