Figured as long as I'm doing the HWT build, I'd go ahead and get the ANH pictures done as well. Brian (tkrestonva) came over and helped me get these done, which I very much appreciated.

This is a mixed-FX armor set, modded MRCE bucket, and modded Hasbro blaster.

I've added (per my ESB Expert Infantry):

Armor:

Correctly sized and colored ab buttons

Side shims

Cut butt-plate and back plate (showing)

Canvas belt with two rivets showing as per stunt requirements

Holster attached behind the belt on the left side

Correct ANH-style handplates (Thanks to tkrestonva)

Helmet:

Replaced tube stripes with correct colored stripes (thanks to Scott M. for his quick help with that!)

Filled in chin seam with white silicon caulk

Added brass, correctly sized ear screws to the ears

Replaced the lenses with green welders lens

Cut out the additional teeth needed for the Stunt build

Blaster:

Added d-ring

Added folding stock

Added power cylinders

Added extra t-rack

Added Hengstler counter

looks great man :duim:

just wondering.. did you remove the old tube stripes and apply new ones? or fix the existing ones ? im planning on doing a helmet mod for someone in my garrison and the only mod tutorials i could find show repainting the entire helmet, but i would like to avoid that if possible. i have some ideas but your mod looks pretty good ^_^

Sry if I write it...but the helmet must be completely revised and paint, if he should look good...everything else is half-hearted

Here are some pics from my old already sold MR CE bucket-

MRCEbucket1.jpgMRCEbucket4.jpgMRCEbucket2.jpg

that would be more optimal, which you can pick out from the bucket...but this is my opinion ;)

It's pretty easy to do. I used a Magic Eraser to remove the old stripes, then applied a set of Scott M.'s MRCE stripes. They look good to me, and I don't see a need to take the helmet apart and repaint...if I want to do all that, I'll just get a kit.

Well...i think it's rather suboptimal to fill the seal with acrylic and looks not so nice.

If you have no appetite for the many working(I can understand quite), then I would rather take a more accurate helmet kit. But as I wrote, it's just my opinion...

FYI, my current EIB info is wrong...it should be ESB, not ANH...I'm wanting to add ANH.

I've already seen, that you've the ESB EIB status and you want the status for the ANH EIB...but I just do not understand the sentence, what does this have to do with the theme of the helmet. Sry, if I just stand on the tube :P

That comment wasn't directed at you, just general information.

As to the helmet, kudos to you or anyone who does all the optional MRCE mods. I didn't want to, and I think it's a solid helmet with or without them. Like I said, if I want to do all that work, I'll get a helmet kit from one of the many sellers on the FISD...I probably will at some point, just not now. The mods you've pointed out are optional, and while they do greatly enhance the look of the helmet, the core problem with the MRCE, its' size, is not correctable, and the mods I did meet the requirements for EIB.

I thought it looked great, though I have to confess I'm not a fan of the MRCE. Did Terrell not reply yet? I think you're right wrt to standrds tho.

And yeah, an AP second is the way to go I think :)

I looked over the thread this morning, and wanted a little time to reflect on it. The only two things that could be a issue are the D-ring looks like it's going to fall off (literally) and the seam on the helmet chin could be better.

I'm not sure what kind of silicone you used on the seam, but DAP makes a sandable/paintable white silicone based caulk. I've used it on other projects and it works well. Another alternative is Apoxie Sculpt super white. You apply it and then smooth it out with a wet finger. It will literally smooth to a glass finish with a little time and a wet finger.

And let it not be said that staff get special treatment. This is fair feedback, and I'm sure Dan's EI will be more worthy for it.

Here are the updated photos of the fixes I made to the helmet seam and d-ring. The helmet seam was re-done with several layers of silicon caulk, sanded and smoothed. It's not perfect, but I think it looks better than it did.
