riveting Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 I need measures of holster i make of scratchbuild one thank I found dimensions will change depending on what blaster you've got. if that helps? paper or plastic templates are your friend & save on the leather ltr. Quote
TD 6187[501st] Posted October 7, 2010 Author Report Posted October 7, 2010 thank so much all post the pictures just finished the meantime this is a work made for my Tusken Raider costume in working with weathering Quote
troopermaster Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 old TM pattern I have made ammendments to this pattern and will post the updated version later. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) I think the old pattern fits a sterling really well paul. I'm looking forward to seeing your version 2! lot's of times, like riveting says the holster cutout needs to change depending upon the blaster that is going into it. like steve/riveting says: " I found dimensions will change depending on what blaster you've got. if that helps? paper or plastic templates are your friend & save on the leather ltr. " it's just going to allow for many different types of magazine notch cutout? right paul? it will be great to see the next version!!! Edited October 7, 2010 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote
troopermaster Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 The old pattern fits the blasters very well. I just made a few adjustments to sizes to make them more accurate. I have a real Sterling SMG, a rubber Hyperfirm E-11 and a resin E-11 and they all fit the new version of the holster perfectly Quote
Neo Kerberos Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) The measures of the TM pattern looks good, I have made my holster with these indications ----------- Edited January 17, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
geordietrooper Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 patrice those are pics of the short range blaster pistol & holster not e11, & only used for publicity i believe ? Quote
Neo Kerberos Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) Well, I'm sure that the short holsters were also used used in the movie... Check this picture of the Tantive IV assault for exemple : Edited January 17, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 That's Simons holster, and it's just badly cut compared to the others. Not intentionally shorter. Quote
Neo Kerberos Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) It is not only shorter, the shape is also very diffrent... It look like more as a "western movie" holster ^^ But I'm interested about it... Did anyone have better picture and measurements of this specific model? Another question about the TM template, what is the more accruate way for the band who maintain the blaster in place ? -------- Edited January 17, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I would go with type A strap, and the long version of the snap tab. Quote
troopermaster Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Type B is screen accurate and the retaining strap should be longer. The longer strap was one of the amendments I made to the plans. I also made the holster 10mm narrower too. The different holster you see is not meant to be worn with the Stormtrooper armour. I think it may be an Imperial Gunners or Rebel troopers, and whatever it is, it has been riveted onto the belt upside down on Simons suit and the correct way on the promo trooper. I believe Simon will be offering holsters made from his original pattern. Quote
Neo Kerberos Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I will be really interested to obtain the Simon's hoster patern ! Quote
Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 (edited) On the subject of holsters.... are these dims accurate? Looks like its from Billhag's photobucket... found on the elitestormtrooper forum link in Patrice's post. ---------- Edited January 17, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
Neo Kerberos Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) Dimensions seems to be good... Another picture of the short holster on the left --------- Edited January 17, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote

TK bondservnt[501st] Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 it looks like we have a variation in holster types! Quote
Neo Kerberos Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) Great pics ! Nobody have Simons holsters template? An another little question.... Why these holsters are called "Simons holsters"? ^^ Another pic of the screen used holster, the right color is brown ! Edited November 18, 2011 by Neo Kerberos Quote
ZeroRoom[TK] Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Its called called Simon's Holster because it came attached to Simon's armor! The S in RS props stands for Simon. He's the guy that owns the original set of ANH armor that RS props cast their replicas from. Quote
