Bernard Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 We are going to replace the perforated plastic eye lenses on the Disney Stormtrooper helmets. What is the accurate color and shape for the eye lens in ROTJ and ANH? Quote
R2Dan[TK] Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 green plastic. The ROTJ helmets had bubble lenses, ANH had flat lenses for the so-called "stunt" helmets and also bubble lenses on the hero lids (as worn by Luke and Han). They were all green. Quote

Obievon[501st] Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 I believe everyone here will tell you that you want to keep the lens flat. Although the bubble lens in the HERO Helmet looks neat, as Luke said. " I can't see a thing out of this helmet." Go with the stunt green flat lens and you will see just fine. Quote

Bernard Posted September 24, 2010 Author Report Posted September 24, 2010 I am thinking of cutting the lenses out of a piece of #4 welding shield visor. Nice green but not too dark. How does that sound? Quote
NoVATie[Admin] Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 (edited) A lot of people use the welding material. It's definitely green from the inside but it looks dark on the outside and flash photography won't show your eyes which is a good thing. Edited September 24, 2010 by NoVATie Quote
