TK bondservnt[501st] Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) having to build armor for myself, but I keep on building new armors. Ā up next is my TKC build. it's gonna have the ROTJ method of overlap assembly. Ā and I'm itching to get the pattern finished for my weathering. Ā I have made my latex handplates out of black latex paint impregnated and coated with clear gloss. Ā all flexible and shiny too! Ā my belt has arrived and I'm working on getting it fitted. Ā my pauldron and bfg are also in. Edited February 16, 2012 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote

BananoPower22[TK] Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Any pictures? Or is this some classified Top-Security stuff? Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 the armor parts are all in the painting process and need to be completely finished before photos can be taken, otherwise it's just repeating the process. Ā adding a clearcoat that has no flaws, is deep and rich... this is the goal of a 3 coat clear shoot on this kit. Ā this will have all flat black details, and be very shiny. Quote

TK bondservnt[501st] Posted November 19, 2012 Author Report Posted November 19, 2012 I still work on this project. many years in the making. Ā far too long. Ā some have betrayed me, and some have delayed me. Ā but I will not stop until I am the eyes and ears of the emperor. Quote
TK Keith[TK] Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 Keep at it! My Sith Acolyte is certainly taking longer than expected. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted November 28, 2012 Author Report Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) so far I've had to repaint the entire kit, with wetsanding passes. Ā the limbs are done, and I had an auto body man work on some of it. there's a much more refined surface and we've added layers of clear, primer and finally paint to get the right color. Ā as the kit is being wetsanded and primered, the surface is becoming more and more like a mirror. when the paint is finally applied to the whole surface and rubbed out and waxed you're going to be able to see massive reflections on this thing. Ā the torso/ chest ab back kidney and helmet are all that's left to prime and wetsand. Ā I'm far too busy on other people's work to finish my own armor, but I did order larger canvas belts Ā to get this kit set up. Ā I made my own shiny latex handplates, upgraded to a more accurate belt, and have my drop boxes with backs. Ā it's getting closer and closer to clearance photos every month. Ā I want to apply paint to the inside of the armor as well, for hips is just not very strong. Edited November 28, 2012 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote
