S-trim question: which part goes one the helmet?

The S-trim has 2 parts: 1 straight, and 1 rather curved one. Which one goes on the edge of the helmet?

Straight. The fat part does not go on the helmet edge.

AFAIK the s-trim was for ANH. For ESB, the "curved" part was cut of, thus resulting in a U-trim. I don't know about ROTJ.
