tk0600 Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Hello all, First time poster here. The forum is great! Very informative. Anyway, I found a great solution for the t-tracks last night at Lowes... Garage door insulation! Really looks great. All you have to do is cut the ends off and it works great. A roll of it is just under $8. Which gives you enough for 3 to 4 DLT-19s. And here is it installed: Hope that it may help someone. Quote
snoberg Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Cool, you just cut the bottom off it looks like? Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Brilliant find! Yum, yum, gimme some And...welcome to the FISD! Quote
tk0600 Posted August 10, 2010 Author Report Posted August 10, 2010 Ya, actually, you can cut the bottom and top off. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 can you show red lines where you cut this? looks like I'm headed off to lowes! Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Great find, Paul. On another note, I know you're one of the old-heads around the garrison, but since you're new (at least according to post count) here - mind posting an introduction in the New Member Introduction section? Quote
tk0600 Posted August 23, 2010 Author Report Posted August 23, 2010 Tried to draw on this photo where my cut line. As you can see, i already cut off the left side. Hope this helps. Quote
Sandeman[TK] Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Well I'll be. After scouring every place I could think of for T-track alternatives, I ended up making my own out of styrene. Would have rather used your solution! Great find. Quote
carbonitekid Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 As the search engine has a hissy fit when I put "T track" into it.... can anyone point me in the right direction for some good quality/accurate T track please. Many thanks, Matt. Quote
RogueTrooper[TK] Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Hey Matt, If you are looking for a quality/accurate T- tracks. Then look at tfx_studios on ebay. pandatrooper[TK] Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Theres some links to t track suppliers in this article here. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=12507&pid=154230&st=0entry154230 Quote
sskunky Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Ginos T Track is by far the most accurate available on the RPF. but it's also the most expensive at $ 100 a set. Saberfreak is the next most accurate at about $30 for enough for an E11. It's brown and needs painting but is very good. It's original door/drawer runner. You can see it on my Sterling E11 conversion. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=8560&st=0&unlockUserAgent=1 Quote
andy19422 Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Many thanks guys. Hi mate, i got mine from tfx off ebay, really fast post from Aus. Pop round if you want to take a look, also just got my display case today Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 I have mine on the way from sabrefreak on the RPF. I should make more of them. Quote
Kirby Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 I know that there have been other alternatives for the T-track posted up here, I have actually purchased the leaf rake, the garage door trim, and screen holder... I was wanting something more solid so I continued searching. I was getting a storage building near my new house and stopped by the Hobby shop in the area just thinking there might be something I could stumble across that might work.. Well this is what I came up with. This initial try is a little rough as I was just trying to get it knocked out to see how close it would work.... Im pretty happy with it, aside from Im really going to have to work on the heating the ends to get em right... But here are some pics open looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say... Quebectrooper Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 So what are they from? Mine are door liner stuff and look the same. I notice they are high and the leaf rakes are rounder. Which are screen accurate? Quote
Kirby Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 I liked the door liner as they looked the part, but if the originals were realy old plastic drawer t-track I wanted to come close to that.. I liked the rake I thought that they were perfect aside from the fact that one end was higher than the other... the screen holder was easy to work with but it was at an angle... I guess they all have their own little quirks... and more of a personal preference... Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 I have some sabrefreak T Track, and I've been using the rakes. I really like the rakes. Quote
Quebectrooper Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 So wich ones are accurate? Quote
ObiHahn[TK] Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 That stuff shown here is a nice find, but too high to be screen accurate, afaik. I ordered the saberfrak T-track as well, that is quite spot on. But I bet that the alternatives mentioned here are the cheaper route to go. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 (edited) leaf rake on top, master replica's resin copy on bottom. leaf rake unpainted: Edited October 25, 2010 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote
stormtrooperguy[501st] Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 I too have the saberfreak stuff. I haven't studied it in great detail, but it looks the part well to my eyes. Quote
