Bigturc Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 Hey Curtis! I'm also owning an AP armor but didn't ever figure out how to attach properly the knee pad to the leg .. could you post more detailed photos of the knee without the tape .. and the views from all directions? That would really help me. I've had my suit built since last november but didn't have the courage to fix my knee yet Thanks man! Al Quote
TK-4261 Posted July 23, 2007 Author Report Posted July 23, 2007 Hey Troops, Tank you for all the great feedback. Yes Al I'll post some more detailed pics of the knee plate tomorrow. Thanks again guys, Curtis Quote
TK-4261 Posted July 24, 2007 Author Report Posted July 24, 2007 Hey Troops, Here are some more detailed pics of the knee plate that Arlo requested. The rivets barely fit through the two pieces of plastic, so I hope it holds. <_< Hope these help Arlo. Curtis Quote

Wow a chef and college professor. Lol You are 8 hours ahead of me. I was up finishing up my thighs at 2:00 am. All that learning made me hungry... go cook something.... Curtis Quote
TK-4261 Posted July 25, 2007 Author Report Posted July 25, 2007 Hey Troops, I finished my thighs last night and they came out great, fit perfect. Again I used Dave's Videos on You Tube, I still can't stress enough the importance of using Dave's Videos to all newcomers putting together armor. Dave shows you a way to keep the mess to a minimum and is very thorough. http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=glastondebury Oh ya, if someone could send Dave a set of Dark Smoke Grey flat lenses, cause I think he might be dead of anticipation from waiting for the lenses he ordered 2 weeks ago Here are some pics of last nights project. Instead of gluing the front and velcro the back I glued both seams. Till next time, which will be about 10 minutes, I will post my thigh plate I did today. Curtis Quote
TK-4261 Posted July 25, 2007 Author Report Posted July 25, 2007 Hey Troops, Here are the pics of my right thigh plate I attached today. I used white rivets, velcro and plastic welder. I was just going to use rivets and velcro for cushining, but that changed. I put a pice of velcro in the middle and a dab of plastic welder on each side, cause there was a big gap on each side and the velcro wasn't even touching. The first dab was kind of messy but who will see it? Oh Ya, all of you guys reading this post I used 1/8 white rivets on each side. Till next Time, Curtis Quote
TK-6044 Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Great job Curtis! Got to love the AP armor, the thigh pieces have great shape compared to the FX ones. I might have to glue both the back and the front too, it may help put some shape into mine, at the moment they look like barrels. Yes I am still waiting for my Lenses, can't finish Episode 10 Pt5 till I get them, I might have to have bubble vision for SDCC... (Shakes Head, cries soft English tears of calm rage) I must not let the Darkside take over me... Oh wait a minute I am on the Darkside, must remember to put my E-11 Blaster on charge tonight... Dave Did I use enough Emoticons in that Post? Nah heres one more Quote
Chefhawk[501st] Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Nice pics again curtis...thanks for that. Quote
TK-4261 Posted July 31, 2007 Author Report Posted July 31, 2007 Hey Troops, I've completed my canvas belt that I received from firebladejedi and followed his tutorial and it turned out good. This is a great belt and a fun project to complete. here is the link: Canvas Utility Belt I only used a couple of different things. Black 1 inch nylon straps for the amo pouches and I used a leather hole punch to make all of the holes in the belt except the holes in the part of the belt with the extra piece of ABS for the holster. I used a drill for that and then I took the souldering iron and poked it through the holes to make sure they don't frey(carefully). The best part of this belt is the ability to take everything apart for easy storage/transportation. Here are some pics of the Canvas belt project. Till next time, Curtis Quote

TK-4261 Posted August 6, 2007 Author Report Posted August 6, 2007 Hey Troops, I've completed my ab/back piece today. It fits snug and doesn't move at all and its not uncomfortable. It doesn't seem like I need suspenders, but I will of course add them. First I took 6 pieces of 2 X 4 black elastic and glued them to the back/butt piece with E6000 and them taped them down over night. I used 1 (2 X 6 black elastic) glued with E6000 & riveted with 6 rivets, 2 (2 X 3 black elastic) one side glued with E6000 and the other end each with 2 snaps. All the female snaps on abs were glued with plastic welder. The ab buttons are blue and grey... They look darker with my camera. till next time, Curtis Quote
