SCtrooper20 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Report Posted June 29, 2010 Finally got the helmet done today. I know there are some caps, but I'll take care of it. Let me know what yall think. Constructive criticism is allowed. But please be gentle..its my first time. Quote
TK-7980 Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 I'm sure if you needed some new ears, Terell would be more than willing to set you up with some. Quote
SCtrooper20 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Report Posted June 29, 2010 Are the ears that bad uh? Yeah I noticed the difference between the two sides. In my opinion, the right side looks the better than the left. But if I Have to get new ears, I guess I have to Quote
DarkTrooper[TK] Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Sorry bud, but that's too much trimming on the ears. It would be best to get a new set. Quote
TK9926 Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Sorry bud, but that's too much trimming on the ears. It would be best to get a new set. Ouch! Thats ashame but pratice makes perfect. Good luck! Quote
SCtrooper20 Posted July 6, 2010 Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 Sorry I haven't been updating. I fixed the ear problem. I got some Bondo spot putty and some Backer Rod foam. Filled in the caps and sealed with spot putty. After a few coats and sanding I got it lookin pretty good. Going to start to paint within the week. Quote
SCtrooper20 Posted July 9, 2010 Author Report Posted July 9, 2010 UPDATE TIME!!!! I finally got around to the finishing touches on the helmet painting. Let me know what yall think. Also, I was so stoked about finishing I wanted to go out and get the paint for the tears, frown, etc...Well I ventured off to Lowe's. And after a few minutes wondering around the paint section, I couldn't find the Humbrol brand paint. Asked one of the associates working and said that he never heard of that brand and figured the store didn't carried it. So Wal-mart was next on the list. And wouldn't you know, they didn't have it either. Ticked off I went to one more place(local hobby store) and nothing, 0-3 on my search. Just ordered paint and tube stripes from TK-4510. So I'll have that soon. Quote
Murray1134[501st] Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 For the Humbrol paints (or similar) you should check out a hobby shop or model shop. Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Testors is a good alternative to Humbrol - and you can find it at just about any hobby shop that deals in model cars, airplanes, etc. Quote

SCtrooper20 Posted July 10, 2010 Author Report Posted July 10, 2010 I now know about the Humbrol paint....and didn't have the Testors paint code. I did go to a hobby shop and he didn't have either paint. Didn't want to get the wrong shade of grey. I have order the paint plus tube stripes from TK-4510 Quote
Murray1134[501st] Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 The only paint code I can ever remember is the Testors Grey #1138. It just seems so appropriate. Quote
SCtrooper20 Posted July 30, 2010 Author Report Posted July 30, 2010 Update time....Sorry for the my absence these past few weeks. I, like most of everyone here as a full time job, and this past few weeks have been pretty hectic. But I have worked during my spare time. So here you go. Quote
