snap button went through my chest plate

I glued a snap button inside my chest plate and realized this morning you see the shape of the button on the other side !

 

Its now sanded down and fixed but what happenned?

 

Too much ABS glue or the plastic is too thin?

 

People who don't know about this might make the same mistake

Definitely, maybe both.

 

That's why is best to use E6000 + snaps-on-tabs

Also some people glue the snap to a spare piece of plastic first then attach that piece to the armor piece. Extra piece of plastic between the snap and armor.

Some glues react badly when it touch's the metal snap and it can warp the outside armour plastic. I have had this happen before.

Yep, I've seen some garrison members who've had the same problem... rounded bubbles form on the opposite side of a glued snap.
