I had a fun photo idea.

Does your gym have a DLT-19? :laugh1:  Ol' 18-Poundy was right at home in the weight tree while I had the bar out for squats.

It's been a crazy couple of weeks thanks to a massive hail storm and the cleanup afterwards. It's time for my (sorely belated) weekly update!

Starting weight: 191

Goal weight: 150

Current weight: On 01 AUG it was 184. As of 08 AUG, it was 181.

I've spoken to my family doctor about the medication dosage that caused the initial spike in my weight and he gave me the OK to lower the dose back to what it was before the major weight gain until I can see a specialist. I've got an appointment with the specialist on the 25th of this month, so here's hoping we can get all of this stuff figured out. Until then I'll be continuing with my regular exercise plan, plus some expanded dumbbell workouts.

Thanks again, everyone, for the recommendations and the support. Keep up the great work!

Another week down. Back pain is much more manageable now and almost gone. Crohn's pain gone. Workouts are going well. :dancing-trooper:

Keep at it guys, this hard work takes time but will pay dividends when you hit your targets.

Weekly update!

Starting weight: 191 lbs

Goal weight: 150 lbs

Current weight: 182 lbs

I'll be seeing an endocrinologist on Thursday to hopefully get things figured out once and for all!

The endocrinologist has given me some lab work requisition forms, but agrees that I probably shouldn't be taking the dose that caused my weight gain. Until I'm able to get that done I'll be continuing my exercise regimen. As of Monday, this week, I weighed 179. I've made a bunch of progress toward my goal and I'm very proud of that. Thanks again to everyone for all of the encouragement!

Great to see your progress Daniel, I like the way you are advancing, pound by pound, one step at at time not in a hurry. :th_AnimatedBravoSmiley:

Keep on fighting Trooper

My current fitness could be better, but I've been in great shape. Thanks for asking! We walked about 70 miles last week (no kidding) in Disneyland. My feet are begging for mercy but I'm feeling good. Gonna get back into the gym swing shortly.

verrry very slowly gaining weight even, which is good. My Crohn's disease is in remission again.

Hey! Sorry about dropping off there for a bit. I've just been readjusting to working full-time after taking the summer off to relax and get unpacked from my cross-country move. Since starting the job I've not been able to get in as much exercise time as I'd like, but I'm on my feet all day so I'm definitely getting my steps in. I'm about 29lbs from my goal weight and it looks like I may be on track to reach it by February if I'm lucky. I'll be sure to try and find some more time to post updates now that my work schedule seems to finally be figured out. Keep up the great work, everyone!

troop2021-3-10.jpg

I just realized how appropriate this would be for this thread. My last troop was a fun one.

As for a 2023 update, I have NOT missed a single day of working out this year. I didn't do a resolution or anything, but Jan 1st is a really easy to remember benchmark. Proud to be on about a month long streak so far as of the 20th.

On rest days I still stretch and do a couple miles on the stationary bike. Nothing strenuous but better than sitting by the fireplace letting sore muscles stay tense. More stretching has really helped overall.

Way to go dude! I've been intermittent fasting (16-8) to fit back into my armor after some gain last semester (I work at College) but you're doing it for real!

After some months of back and forth, I'm back on the bandwagon. 2 weeks in and I'm down 7 lbs. Changed the diet, added some additional walking and light exercises. Now to keep the momentum going. I've got a long way to rid myself of the 50 extra lbs I've put back on, but I have to continue to tell myself this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Good job James!!! Momentum is the important thing. Keep it up!

I've missed one day working out since around mid December of last year. Momentum keeps me going. Morning stretches really help me in getting into the gym too. This getting old stuff is strange.
