TK_LEPER Posted April 18, 2010 Author Report Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) Still have a ways to go on these. Need to fix the gap at the bottom, and add the strips. Not sure if I need to fix the seems at the top, or what to do on the back yet. Nothing lines up on the AP kit... I just don't get it. Edited April 19, 2010 by jawa001 Quote

My Wife is in Mertyl Beach with the kids this week, so I don't have to work in the basement, like I usually do. Edited April 18, 2010 by jawa001 Quote

TK_LEPER Posted April 19, 2010 Author Report Posted April 19, 2010 (edited) I'm getting there! I'm trying this thing on the butt plate, that will hopefully keep it from overlapping the kidney plate. We'll see if it works. Edited April 19, 2010 by jawa001 Quote
PGHtrooper21 Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 LOOKS GREAT!!!!!! Keep us updated. Are going TD or TK? I was having problems lining up my AP build myself. I just assembled my thighs last week. I tried to line them up at the top. Thank God for ANH "Cover Strips" and Moddeling irons! Andy Quote

I was considering going TD... But I don't like the no strip look on the helmet. Maybe my next kit, I don't know? I bought the Sniper knee thing, and a pauldron... But I'm feeling rather indecisive on the subject. Probably just go with a TK for now. Quote

For my theighs I followed the smaller piece with a pencil & cut with all purpose scissors. Before I cut I made sure both theighs would be the same after the would be cut. Quote
Rich330[TK] Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Hey Jesse, Great thread. Keep the pictures coming. It's great to see a true craftsman at work. Quote
Dmian Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Awesome Jesse! Nice work. Also, your belt clips are great! I know a trooper who's very happy with them. Quote

TK_LEPER Posted April 20, 2010 Author Report Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) Today's progress... Came home for lunch and worked on the ab buttons. I think I did them a little too big. But I still think they turned out ok. Let's see if this stuff works as well as they say it does... Cut out my shapes with an X-ACTO Chest done... Where was I? Ah yes... AB buttons! Let's start with the blue ones. M-Kay! Now the grey one's... Sweet! *cartman voice* What do you think... too big? More on the kidney/butt plate fix... Seems to work ... Simple but affective! Painted the side rivets... Everyone was out of white one's. So that was at lunch! Edited September 20, 2010 by TK 4702 Quote
TK_LEPER Posted April 20, 2010 Author Report Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) Tonight's progress... So God help me, or May The Force be with me... I've never sewn before! OK forget that... I can't work this thing! A quick test on the upper body... Still need to do some light sanding, and add the strips to my biceps ... Side rivets look good... Holy straps!! Backside... So I didn't get as far as I had hoped tonight. I wasted too much time messing with that dumb sewing machine. Ugh! Edited April 20, 2010 by jawa001 Quote
ObiHahn[TK] Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 This looks like it's coming together extremely nice, I like how accurate you're going along. All the little details incorporated! The ab buttons are probably a tiny bit big like you said, but hey. Quote
Eric Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 coming along greatly man lucky me if i needed to use a sewing machine, i could sweet talk my aunt into doing it lol. loven the pics Quote
